The Orient Beach State Park has much more to offer than its beach. The beach area is nice although pebbly like many of the beaches on the North Fork and there are life guards who looked insanely bored since there was no one really on the beach when we arrived. The wetlands are really spectacular and you can get some great bird watching in of you bring binoculars or a telephoto lens. The osprey nest on the platform they set up is great and they were definitely at the nest when we drive by. You pay a per car fee at the gate. Definitely worth a visit if you're going to go to the point as well.

Good beach, calm waters to swim in, at least on the day we were there. Snack bar, changing rooms & bathrooms available, at least in the Summer months. Also a souvenir stand! Not far from the ferry to New London, CT.

Wanted to see the farthest point on this side of Long Island. Closes at 8pm. After 5pm, no more fees which is ok for us non-swimmers who just want a quick beach walk. After the toll booth, there is a nice drive with views of the bays on both sides. There is a kayak rental place. Parking is very close to the large picnic area (with bbq grills) and the beach. Restrooms, outdoor showers, playground all nearby. I thought this place is more accessible to those who can't walk too far from the parking lot; if only it wasn't 3 hours from Queens when there's heavy traffic. First impression of the beach was not good. Looked messy, with dried seaweed. When by the water though, I liked the very clear water bec. of the pebbles and shells (not cloudy water like in sandy beaches). Water is also calmer bec of the bay. Sign said only swim between the green flags which is not a big area. Also did notice a lot of seaweed on the rocks in the water.

Lots of fun usually very empty, but pretty far out on the island. Lots of other things to do in the area so plan on making it a day while out here.

$8 entry/free with Empire pass. Beautiful, clean, spacious sandy beach with many picnic tables, grills, and beachfront. No swimming is allowed. They have a food shack this year and also kayak rentals. Bathrooms/showers also available. It's worth the 2 hour trip each way from Queens.

Beautiful park to visit to walk and to have a nice time with family and friends, if you like to collect sea shelling you are going to fall in love with this place, the park usually close at 6pm if you are considering coming to the park come early because the parking is small. If you come to the park respect the wildlife and don’t liter so we all can enjoy the park. Beautiful park.

A beautiful park in a great location. We couldn’t help but stop and stare at the abundance of lichens all over the trees! Can’t wait to come back in the summer.

Compared to other state parks it was nothing spectacular. Would rather have gone back to wildwood or montauk.

Gorgeous beach and park ! Free parking and access in the winter too. Would like to come back and kayak through the marshes.

What a great park. We tend to visit in the off season but we love how secluded and quiet it is during those times. I'm a fan of nature and really appreciate how it focuses on preserving that. Dogs are not allowed though due to the fragile habit.

Less crowded state park beach compared to jones beach or Robert Moses. Empire Pass accepted. Beautiful drive in. Kayak and canoe launch and rentals on site. There’s a snack bar that’s open in the summer. Bathrooms, showers, BBQ grills and plenty of picnic tables. The playground is okay, very spread out and some things are roped off. The sand on the beach is not soft so wouldn’t recommend walking barefoot.

2nd time coming here, 2nd time visiting Greenport! Nice state park, $10 fee for parking. There are a lot of rocks and shells on the sand, and there are signs everywhere about Turtles Crossing, Roads. I didn’t see a turtle. Beautiful bathroom, very clean, and there was a little store selling refreshments and beach stuff. A lot of people were using the parks bbQs, maybe because it was Labor Day…. But if you make it all the way out to the end of Long Island, why not!

Last park and beach on Long Island's Northern Fork. Well maintained with restrooms and showers, grills and picnic tables but it is a small park so it gets full quickly. Get there early or very late after 5pm to avoid the crowds. Park closes at 8pm.
