From the drinks to the atmosphere and service, Kandela is good for a drink by the bar or grab a table and enjoy an appetizer & entree. The DJ is dope setting the tone on Thursdays to start the weekend!

Chicken was dry, and rice was decent.The gratuity charge is ridiculous!Hidden fees on your bill feels like a corporation like Verizon when you get your bill at home.Crazy stuff!

The service, drinks and food are good. The problem is that on the kandela website they promote happy hours from Monday to Friday from 12 to 6 pm and unfortunately they charge you at the regular price for drinks. We arrived with my friends at 2:30 pm, it was supposed to be happy hour. We ordered a drink called picosito which during happy hours the price is $9 and they charged it at $15. When I asked the waitress she said that wasn't during happy hour. So what they publish on their page is not true. The tip is included so I imagine that the higher the amount on the bill for them the better because it is more of a tip for the waiter.

I love this place the food is superb the bartender (Jeff) makes top tier drinks. I absolutely love him. The only complaint that I have is they will not change the channel on the tv. We were watching the food channel the whole time! The music is amazing but, when I requested the basketball game it apparently couldn’t be changed. (Please be open to accommodate your consuming customers is my only advice to this place. )

Since 04/22 Kandela has been advertising curbside pickup. On my way home I called over the phone and ordered (1) frozen margarita to go. it took me 10 minutes to place the order because the waitress did not understand english very well and was preoccupied with everyone else around her but the phone. After reaching the restaurant and waiting 30 minutes at the restaurant I went up to the waiter and asked "Why the long wait?" She told the store owner and he came over and said they are very busy. The whole time I was standing there I watched the staff converse and prepare at least over 10 drinks for other orders.The staff did not apologize but just say they were busy.Prior to the shutdown,I used to go to this restaurant weekly for dinner. After being treated horribly today, I will not be going there anymore. I would rather drive to Forest Hills and go to 5 Burros or Westbury to Cozymels where there food is so much better anyways.

Food was good. ORDERED 2 Patron me $15 and $ 3 for salt on the rim of the glass. NEVER heard of this. Not even in Manhattan. $18 and not about the money. Worst they snuck in $3.25credit card charge with itemized items. Not even separate from food total,as required by new NYS.law. I have receipt to prove it. Will report this on the next work day. And they slap 18% gratuity also.
