“I was there on Thurs, Jan 8. In the afternoon. I was just buying a few things. And the man managing the registers (a young, tall, black man. I'm describing him so he gets credit.) was such a kind, nice, courteous. guy. Just one of those people with good energy about them. I wish stores knew more how important it is for people at check out to be friendly to customers...and what a difference it makes. They don't have to be over friendly, but some people that check out, don't even acknowledge you. It's just as important as the product and price point. It's your experience at the store.”

Not only do they take the time to explain all the different products, they were patient with us when we were going back and forth between brands. “By far the best hobby shop around NYC, has been for ages, not many left. Amazing selection of rc cars, planes, boats, model trains and loads of diecast cars of all makes, models and sizes.
Worth the trip, staff are also super friendly and helpful.”
“Came in here on a whim with my 3 year old looking for cars and from the moment we walked in the staff was so friendly, helpful and kind. We spent a lot of time there browsing before my son finally decided on his cars and never felt rushed or unwelcome. Truly a gem to find and they had so many collectibles, figurines and other toys.”

“Went here a few months ago and was blown away by the spaciousness! Definitely more expensive than the other arcades and be prepared to spend more money. However, the merch and plushies are official and licensed, as far as I know this is the only arcade in flushing that does not have bootlegs so that may explain the higher price tag. I will say, I really liked the Lunar New Year promo they had and they should definitely have similar events more often to offset the difficulty and high cost-but at the same time, it's still skill and luck based!Machines are definitely harder, but ask employees for help! The last time we went, we were trying to win a derpy looking dinosaur, and it was very difficult (claw was too weak and plushie was very big and chubby) and the worker helped us reposition. The app did glitch and take away 2 tries for us that we weren't able to play, but the same worker helped us (I never got her name but she had glasses!). She was very encouraging and sweet and helped us win it!”

“Feel like walking through time to your childhood or even further back in time? This is the ultimate place to do that! They have comics, records, toys, pins and so much more from decades ago to the present day. The staff are friendly and want to help you find anything that catches your fancy. It’s also nice to walk around the neighborhood of City Island . It feels like a small part of New England in the Bronx! The store and the island feel like a cool open secret here in NY. Highly recommend!”

People who have made complaints about how they are treated poorly maybe they should have stopped and think hey maybe I deserved the poor treatment from the employee/s and don’t be a stickler and always expect to be greeted the minute you walk in.You are not a KING or anything ?. The store is organized by age grouping and the people working there are so knowledgeable on all the newest fads. There’s truly something for every age group and occasion there. They’ve revolutionized one stop shopping: birthday party? Check. Dance recital? CHECK! Stocking stuffers? Check. Easter baskets? Check!!! “I wanted to support a small Black woman-owned business near me for the holidays. I googled and found this wonderful toy store!
When I walked in, I was immediately greeted by the owner. She was warm, friendly, and told me that although what I was looking for was limited in stock, I had other options. She showed me around, and then told me to take my time looking around the store.
I browsed around, and found three great arts and craft items for my 7 year old great niece which I’m sure she’s going to love!
When I got to the register to pay, the owner asked if I would like to have the items gift wrapped. I was surprised, and said yes.
Not only does this toy store have great gifts, but the owner provides EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I will be back!”

“My favorite bookstore! They had a great selection and everything is organized is very well. It doesn't feel overwhelming when you step inside like some other places. Even if I'm not purchasing book, I love to just go in and walk around! If they don't have the book you're looking for, they'll order it for you and they typically come in by the following week. “No weekend is complete without a run to 5 Below. It's always for something that's needed like a phone charger cord and then I wind up seeing so many other things that I feel like I must have. This location is usually pretty well stocked and the staff is friendly. Every once in a while they're short handed up front but they seem to make it work. On this trip I got pillows and a throw for my guest bedroom because they were super cute and affordable. I also bought another bookcase/organizer because I used one of theirs for my pop up shop set up and it works really great. Even though some things are more than $5 most of my items were actually $5. If you have a very small child, I'm warning you they have lots of cute toys and a lot of candy especially near the checkout so either prep them before you go in or don't bring them.”

“I was a frequent customer of Toy Kiddy House back in my childhood. My mother would take me there all the time to the point where we were regulars for a NUMBER of years.
The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They'll ask if everything is okay as a courtesy and will always help if needed.
I was looking for a video game that they didn't have in stock and the owner called up a warehouse to see if they can expedite shipping to the store within the week.
