“I was there on Thurs, Jan 8. In the afternoon. I was just buying a few things. And the man managing the registers (a young, tall, black man. I'm describing him so he gets credit.) was such a kind, nice, courteous. guy. Just one of those people with good energy about them. I wish stores knew more how important it is for people at check out to be friendly to customers...and what a difference it makes. They don't have to be over friendly, but some people that check out, don't even acknowledge you. It's just as important as the product and price point. It's your experience at the store.”

“By far the best hobby shop around NYC, has been for ages, not many left. Amazing selection of rc cars, planes, boats, model trains and loads of diecast cars of all makes, models and sizes.

“Came in here on a whim with my 3 year old looking for cars and from the moment we walked in the staff was so friendly, helpful and kind. We spent a lot of time there browsing before my son finally decided on his cars and never felt rushed or unwelcome. Truly a gem to find and they had so many collectibles, figurines and other toys.”
“Went here a few months ago and was blown away by the spaciousness! Definitely more expensive than the other arcades and be prepared to spend more money. However, the merch and plushies are official and licensed, as far as I know this is the only arcade in flushing that does not have bootlegs so that may explain the higher price tag. I will say, I really liked the Lunar New Year promo they had and they should definitely have similar events more often to offset the difficulty and high cost-but at the same time, it's still skill and luck based!Machines are definitely harder, but ask employees for help! The last time we went, we were trying to win a derpy looking dinosaur, and it was very difficult (claw was too weak and plushie was very big and chubby) and the worker helped us reposition. The app did glitch and take away 2 tries for us that we weren't able to play, but the same worker helped us (I never got her name but she had glasses!). She was very encouraging and sweet and helped us win it!”

People who have made complaints about how they are treated poorly maybe they should have stopped and think hey maybe I deserved the poor treatment from the employee/s and don’t be a stickler and always expect to be greeted the minute you walk in.You are not a KING or anything ?. So be mindful of your actions first before pointing fingers at others.”
“The owners know all their products and are very experienced with importing merchandise that otherwise might be difficult to attain here in the States. From Transformers to Gundam, from Power Rangers to Ultraman, from One Piece to Jujutsu Kaisen, they’ve quite literally have it all. My brother and I will be frequenting this spot quite a lot in the near future and I hope anybody that is even remotely interested in shopping collectibles or hobby items that you will give this place a chance and fall in love with the atmosphere as did my brother and I!!”

Look, I can't speak for the others, but this one sure is!We went into TP Toys looking for some toys that would keep our 8-month-old occupied on her first long road trip. Kemesha, the owner, walked us around the store and helped us find some gems. “KJ’s corner is truly what gives small businesses their good rep. not only is it a nice clean one-stop-shop, but also super local and friendly too. Their variety of options on balloons is what really caught my eye. Karli has the talent of bringing a vision to life (which can be hard to come across these days). Also a huge plus is seeing the cutest dogs while you shop! 10/10 would recommend coming here, and I will most definetely be coming back for all my gift and balloon needs !!!”

“Nice little bookstore, not an enormous selection, but they have a lot of current books, and some best sellers, and you can always ask them to get the book you're looking for. I usually find at least one book I'm interested in. Good children's section in the back as well, with cushions for the little ones to sit at and read. The people working there are always very friendly and helpful.”

“No weekend is complete without a run to 5 Below. It's always for something that's needed like a phone charger cord and then I wind up seeing so many other things that I feel like I must have. This location is usually pretty well stocked and the staff is friendly. Every once in a while they're short handed up front but they seem to make it work. On this trip I got pillows and a throw for my guest bedroom because they were super cute and affordable. I also bought another bookcase/organizer because I used one of theirs for my pop up shop set up and it works really great. Even though some things are more than $5 most of my items were actually $5. If you have a very small child, I'm warning you they have lots of cute toys and a lot of candy especially near the checkout so either prep them before you go in or don't bring them.”
