“Our van broke down in Colton, NY. The closest auto repair shop was Route 56 Auto. The timing belt gave up the ghost & trashed the engine. Tim and his crew replaced the engine ( 197,000 miles)within a weeks time and our van runs just fine. If I was from the local area I would certainly bring my vehicle's to Route 56 Auto.”

“A truly kind hearted and genuine mechanic! Can’t be thankful enough! We were driving from Buffalo on the Christmas Eve and our car break warning light came on along with multiple system warnings. We were panicking as the road was icy and we have a baby with us for another ten hour ride. We were an hour away from the auto shop and Nathan answered the phone m. Nathan went all out to help us, strangers to him who had yet paid him anything. He explained and clearly guided us through the whole process. We made it back home safe and sound because of Nathan! Nathan was beyond helpful and truly has a kind heart. He was so passionate when explaining about cars. We will always remember Skippy’s Auto Repair each time we drive past Potsdam! Thank you!”

“This is a bit of a tough one. My wife insists on taking our 2011 Toyota Sienna with around 190,000 miles on it here for everything, and I'll admit that the few times we've tried somewhere else it's ended in mixed results. TJ Toyota knows their stuff, and they charge accordingly. When you go in for routine maintenance, it's not unusual for them to come out with a list of "other issues." This most recent time I was there for an oil change, etc. If I had done everything on their list my oil change would have cost around $2,000. In fairness, they explained that most of the items were "milage based recommendations," and didn't use any hard sell tactics. Also worth noting, the waiting area is very clean and comfortable, even offering complimentary coffee, tea, and donuts. This is a good thing, because they are not fast. It's usually quite busy and they aren't a quick lube.”

They get you into the vehicle you want for great prices. I prefer to drive to Potsdam to purchase a vehicle and to get my car serviced. It’s 400 miles from home but worth the trips.”
