“We’ve had a wonderful experience over the past two years at Morningside Playcare. The language immersion has been truly transformational for our daughter and played a meaningful role in preparing her for a full language immersion school next year. The administration has been supportive throughout that transition, which we really appreciate.

The community is warm and welcoming, and the location is hard to beat. We especially love that the kids get outside every day—time in Central Park is such a gift—and the Forest School option is a great offering for families looking for even more outdoor experience.

“We have been at Sunshine Lexington for a year and a half so far. My daughter started at 5.5 months old, so we began in the youngest babies classroom. We absolutely love it there, and so does our daughter. The teachers are wonderful, evidenced by the almost zero turnover I’ve seen since we started.

The Tadpoles app is a great way to communicate, and you know what they’re eating/drinking, when they have diaper changes or use the toilet, when they nap and for how long, and receive photos and videos throughout the day. In addition to the daily Tadpoles updates, there is also the opportunity to sign up for phone calls with the teachers, email teachers directly, and there is a monthly meeting over zoom (recorded and sent with presentation deck after as well) to keep you updated on everything happening.

They also make it easy to connect with fellow parents by sharing parent contact info, having designated WhatsApp threads for each classroom, and hosting social events (including adults-only events).

I have also been impressed with the curriculum and amazing programs. This year, my daughter had music class, Spanish class, soccer lessons, and yoga lessons! She absolutely loves doing her yoga moves at home and telling me the Spanish words she knows!

What I find most helpful though is the guidance and support on when and how to hit certain milestones, including support on starting solid foods, when to switch from bottle to sippy cup, when to switch from sippy cup to open cup, etc. Right now, my daughter is in the beginning stages of potty training, and her excitement for the process started because of the encouragement happening at school.

The original freely handled and simplified Byzantine Revival design by Bertram Goodhue was called "a jewel in a monumental setting" by Christine Smith in 1988. It is the final resting place for actresses Lillian Gish (1893–1993), Dorothy Gish (1898–1968), and their mother Mary Gish (1876–1948).Saint Bartholomew's Church and Community House was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 1967, a move opposed at the time by the rector and vestry. Beginning in 1981, St. Bartholomew's found itself the subject of a much-publicized case concerning air rights in the highly-competitive New York real estate market clashing with historical preservation. The daily circle time is my child’s favorite, which helped to develop her reading habit. Definitely one of the top early educational place to go!”

“This is the best daycare in the area! We toured many daycares looking for the right one, and it wasn’t easy since many didn’t meet our needs. What I really liked about Little Scholars is that the classrooms have windows with natural daylight and everything is incredibly clean. They even have special equipment for air and bacteria control, and I truly noticed that my daughter got sick much less often while attending this daycare.

But what matters even more is the team of teachers and office staff! Everything is organized perfectly, and it feels like one big family with such a warm, caring atmosphere. I honestly don’t know how the director managed to bring together such wonderful people in one place — they are all true professionals.
