“This was our first time at Nassau Vet. We have a 13 year old rescue female dog in pretty good shape. The vet was very thorough and took her time in examining her for the first time. Explained everything to us and gave us pricing for everything they did. Very professional and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.”
“Service was prompt and courteous. This was the first time I met with new veterinary staff, Dr. Natasja DeFiores, who was kind and performed a thorough examination on my cats. One of them is on chronic medication, and she had lab work drawn at the appointment, on Friday. Dr. Natasja (her choice, rather her last name, I think to clarify from her husband, the other vet in the practice, with the same last name) messaged me the next day, Saturday, to let me know that my cat's bloodwork was looking good. I much appreciated the timely follow up and reassuring news. My only complaints are two small things that the office likely has a little control over. Typically I am able to obtain 100 of my cats pills for a prescription, which gets me through almost a year. However, because of lack of availability in the medication, they were only able to give me 30. I know there are medication shortages everywhere, including in human medicine, so I do not fault the practice for this problem. The other thing is that the office now appears very sterile. There is almost nothing on the white walls, where they used to be cute pictures of clients' pets, cat and dog magazines, and a warm feeling of welcome. Having visited this practice for more than 20 years, my guess is that this has to do with the fact that it is now part of a larger corporation, which may not value that community feeling the office used to have. Nonetheless, this is not a reflection on the vets themselves or the thorough care they provide.”
“Staff were super kind and accommodating. Unfortunately our visit went from surgery to having to put our furry friend to sleep. Throughout the process they were thoughtful and kind. They made it easier for us during such a hard time. Would absolutely recommend !”

“I love bringing my two dogs, a Pomeranian and a Boston Terrier. The treatment they receive here is incredible. As soon as we arrive, we are always greeted with a warm welcome by the friendly receptionists. The veterinary technicians are also very friendly and provide a clear overview of what the veterinarian will do during the appointment. During my dogs' last visit, the vet presented me with a plan of care and discussed the expenses and alternative options with me. Overall, I'm very satisfied with the care my dogs receive.”

“Absolutely the best place to go. They have a wellness plan that pretty much covers the majority of the items needed yearly. Shots, Vet visits and multiple other items. At the Latham office Dr. Carpenter is absolutely awesome. Hands-down I will never take my animals to another vet ever again. Definitely one of the most intelligent and caring veterinarians I have worked with. We have an almost 16 year old minion/pug who has gone though everything and had we not had her seen here I don’t think she would be alive today.”

“Dr. Rice is outstanding. He was able to fit me in at a moment's notice on a Saturday. He spent all the time I needed for questions and explanations. He tended to Zoe, our cat of almost 20 years, and gave very helpful diagnostic advice, along with a sensible prognosis. That saved us a good deal of unnecessary worry and expense. Miller Animal Hospital and Dr. Michael Rice will continue to be our vets of choice.”
“If you are reading this review, you most likely have a pet. The word "pet" minimizes the relationship, the bond you have established with this, albeit furry member of your family. VCA Shaker acknowledges their patients by extending a tender approach in their care. My late chihuahua, a rescue, gave us joy for seventeen years. She survived the early onset of a heart condition because the staff of VCA Shaker monitored her condition and provided treatment that would ensure a quality of life for her remaining days. After she crossed the rainbow, Shaker sent condolences, a card signed by every member of the staff who had experienced an exchange with our "fur girl." That makes VCA Shaker more than a business (by the way it is owned by Mars - yup the candy maker) it's a pet sanctuary.”
“The receptionist is very kind and welcoming. I absolutely loved the doctor. She seemed to know my cat's issue and recommended a treatment for him that wasn't too costly. It's not overly busy so I feel like they're not rushing through patience.”
“Our kitty Maverick had chewed the band of a price tag and got it stuck in his teeth to where I couldn't pull it out because I was afraid of hurting him. I called and was told a 2 to 3 hour wait, was seen in under 2 hours and was charged 0$ because they said it was easy to get out. Kind and professional staff.”
