“It’s long overdue for me to write this review!

I had the privilege of having my wedding at Villa Russo on June 26, 2026, and the entire experience was absolutely amazing from beginning to end.

Throughout the planning process, I had the pleasure of working with Kim and Brianna, and these two ladies were absolutely incredible. They were always professional, patient, kind, and welcoming. They never made me feel uncomfortable or pressured about anything. I would always want to come in and make payments, and they would reassure me, “Juwan, you’re good—you have time.” That level of understanding and genuine care meant so much to myself and Shakirah during the wedding planning process.

On our wedding day, I believe Eric was our point person, and he was outstanding as well. He made sure everything ran smoothly and that we were taken care of throughout the celebration.

We also had the privilege of meeting Mr. Russo, who was extremely kind, welcoming, and personable. You can tell that hospitality is truly important to him and his team.

Overall, our experience at Villa Russo was TOP TIER! The professionalism, hospitality, kindness, and attention we received helped make our wedding day even more special and memorable.

Thank you to the entire Villa Russo team for being a part of such an important day in our lives. I would absolutely recommend Villa Russo to anyone looking for a beautiful venue with a team that genuinely cares about their clients.

“We had our baby shower here at abyss hall and everything was beyond perfect. They make it so easy to book. Worked with Stephanie and she is best. Very responsive and helpful with any questions you have. The space is absolutely beautiful, and clean. It really brought our vision to light. The lighting is so pretty. The packages they offer are well worth it. My guest had a great time. The staff was amazing the whole night. 10/10 experience from beginning to end. Would recommend abyss hall for any events that you need a party space for.”

“My husband and I got married at Tourmaline on 3/13/26. We are both from Forest Hills, and it was so special to us to have our small 45-person wedding held in a location where we met and grew up. We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our experience preparing for our wedding dinner as well as how it all went on the big day. Rebecca was extremely communicative and clear throughout the planning process. She was always available to email and speak on the phone to address any questions we had, big or small. We did not hire a DJ and instead chose to provide our own music, and Rebecca walked us through the process of bringing our own playlists (they even provided us an additional speaker for a small fee). The venue was spotless, beautiful, open and airy, with warm lighting that was both welcoming and intimate. The service was impeccable and staff was friendly and helpful. As food and beverages are one of the most important parts of an event for my husband and me, I won't cut corners on describing how that side of things went! We chose the family style/buffet dinner option with 2 cocktail hour food stations, as well as the top shelf full open bar. I can say that absolutely everything was incredible. We went with: 3 Mains: -Chicken Cordon Bleu -Short Ribs in bordelaise -Vegetarian Paella 3 Sides: -Potatoes Dauphinoise -Penne a la Vodka -Garden Salad with Balsamic Vinaigrette Our two stations were the cheese and charcuterie, as well as the elegant raw bar (oysters, shrimp, clams, mussels). Everything was absolutely outstanding, with a crowd favorite being the short ribs and a personal favorite of mine being the chicken cordon bleu. However, I could not name one thing that was subpar. As a big seafood fan, I was tickled pink to be able to have oysters at my wedding. (Even more tickled pink to wake up the next morning and have leftovers for breakfast, neatly packaged by staff).Also to note: they were willing to make almost anything gluten free by request, and they even prepared a separate bowl of plain pasta for my stepson. My guests all commented how friendly the bartenders were and how nice it was to have them remember their drinks each time they went up for more! We added the additional hour to our package and were so happy we did; the 3 hours would have flown by; 4 hours really seemed to be the sweet spot for dinner, drinks, and dancing. Overall, the care, attention, and service that were provided in our wedding experience was top notch and I would give Tourmaline nothing less than 5 stars for making our wedding day unforgettable. “Food and drinks were okay. A little overpriced in my opinion for the drinks. Two small mojitos (not strong) cost $44. Had to keep going out the room to call them if we wanted to order drinks or food; so service could be a little more attentive. But they were accommodating and very patient when it came to splitting the bill unexpectedly. Staff was very friendly and welcoming. The room was spacious and had good sound.”

“We had a wonderful experience at this venue. Nora was excellent at coordinating everything from start to finish and made the entire process feel smooth and stress-free. The booking process itself was seamless, and she was always accessible and responsive via email, which made planning much easier.

The decor was absolutely stunning—our guests were genuinely in shock when they walked in. It created such a beautiful and memorable atmosphere. The venue itself is especially well-suited for intimate events, offering a warm and elegant setting that feels both personal and special.

Even when a few hiccups came up, Nora remained accommodating and helpful, ensuring everything stayed on track. We truly appreciated her support and professionalism throughout.”

“This owner saved our baby shower. My husband and I were planning on having our baby shower in Cunningham park. Months of preparation and our families were coming from different states. When we came to the park to set up, it was freezing that day and so windy. We didn’t that would happen on May 30th. I literally googled closed venue near me, I called Bobby the owner and he said he had availability and we can do it on an affordable price! It was truly a miracle. He set up the tables and cleaned up the place for us on such short notice! I definitely recommend this place for any event! The place was beautiful! Thanks again Bobby! You are a wonderful person and I hope the best!”

“Was one of the better party places I've been too. Also food was really good. My only issue is that the experience was too rushed. Another hour would have been the sweet spot. Also the video game room should be closed when doing the party activities, because half the kids were glued to the screens not participating and not eating.”

“The Sands Atlantic Beach has been a favorite venue for many years. I've attended numerous weddings, school dinners, and other special events there, and they've always done a wonderful job. The staff is professional, the food is consistently good, and the location overlooking the beach is beautiful.

The facility itself is a little dated and could certainly benefit from some renovations and modern updates, but that hasn't taken away from the quality of the events I've attended. With some refreshing, it would be even better. Overall, it's a great venue that I would highly recommend for weddings, banquets, and other special occasions.”

“My daughter got married last month at Sound River Studios. It was a 160 person wedding, and we liked the fact that it was spacious enough to have an indoor ceremony if the weather didn't cooperate. But it did! Even as long-time New Yorkers, we were captivated by the river and Manhattan views as it went from sunlight to dusk to night. And the many guests from Chicago and Michigan were charmed as well. It is truly a magical and romantic venue for a wedding. In contrast, the surrounding neighborhood is wonderfully gritty and urban; and we loved that too. It made for dramatic and unusual New York City photographs by Bin at B.Legend.

The space is enormous and empty, so be prepared to bring in all of the furniture and tableware, unlike in a hotel or catering hall. The bridal couple wanted a minimalist look, but it still took a lot of Edison bulbs, florals, and lanterns to decorate the space. One other note is that the acoustics can be challenging since there is nothing to absorb the sound. Be sure to test your equipment for ceremony and speeches. Our guests were on the younger side (late 20s), so the music was loud and hard to hold a conversation - but that's something you could control. It is completely wheelchair accessible.

Una is a pro. She is straight-forward, direct, and no nonsense, which we appreciated. She met us 4 (?) different times to walk through the space as the groom's parents were from out of town, and we'd changed planners midstream. The contracts and bar packages were clear. Between Una and our planner Dave from Events by Jesse, the party ran without any issues so we enjoyed ourselves thoroughly!

Pro-tip: We rented the two penthouse rooms at the Aloft Hotel. It has a rooftop terrace that's open to the public but scarcely used. We hung out there after the welcome reception Friday and until the wee hours after the wedding on Saturday. Much more relaxed than a bar. It was easy to run the shuttles to and from Sound River Studios, which is only about a mile away.”

“The sites are comfortable, the stage are at an ideal point to watch a grouped of dancers proformance, it's close to the subway, and lots of deferent bus stops.”

“I saw this quartet at the this beautiful church in Brooklyn. The quartet played Bad Bunny music but in string music. I enjoyed the music, the staff was very helpful and the church had a serene feelings well.”

“Love this place: Terrific silver and Rosario Candela exhibits, great gift shop (we could not resist the steel water tower replica). Glad they still have the Joe Macken panorama, enjoyed the current exhibition on Revolutionary NYC.”
