“I just passed my ten year anniversary at CFBT! The superb coaches at this gym guided me through weight training as a novice, all those years ago, to assist me in strengthening my post menopausal body. This gym provides expert, individualized coaching at every level, and the group classes can be scaled. I continue to learn new skills! This community is inviting, friendly and diverse. Yoga, nutritional guidance, 1:1 training, special workshops, monthly PRIDE workouts for various charities are all here at CFBT. I am thrilled to be a part of this community.”

“Big gym with all you need and severeal other rooms for different activities like boitcamps, yoga classes, etc. Punch bags room and streching/body workouts room. The only reason I didn't rate it 5 stars is because they don't have a sauna and ice pitt.”

“I’m a new Black Card member.
Staff are very nice and welcoming. Gym is nicely cleaned by staff and the members for majority clean after themselves. Good environment to go to.”

“Both of my children did 3k and 4K as well as summer camp at the Ridgewood Queens YMCA. Our family absolutely Loved the experience. The teachers, administrators and staff are lovely and go above and beyond. My kids know everyone by name and are excited to see their teachers, directors, after school staff and summer counselors. Also my son is a Type 1 diabetic and they partnered with us to make sure that he is safe and well taken care of during summer camp. I trusted my children with YMCA for 4 years. It was a great experience. Highly recommend.”

“PureGym Ridgewood is unique because of its beautiful marquis, a remnant of its past life as the now-closed Ridgewood Theater.

When I visited, my lifts were all noticeably easier. I couldn’t help but feel like I was being assisted by a benevolent specter. With each rep, the barbell flew with unbelievable celerity, almost of its own volition. No matter how much I increased the weight, I couldn’t break a sweat.

After, in the locker room, I overheard a hushed discussion regarding a “phantom spotter”. Maybe the ghost of Austro-Hungarian business exec, William Fox, stands sentinel over what was once the historic Ridgewood Theater. Maybe our resident poltergeist is actually famed architect, Thomas W. Lamb, who designed the theater in 1916.

Maybe I just got stronger.”
