These guys are great! My son is 5 and he is loving his classes with Josh! You can tell Josh tries to give every kid in his class attention and help them feel included. My son is finding self-confidence and self esteem in this class and i couldn't be more thankful

We've been taking classes at Rochester Parkour for several years now, our girls starting in Tiny Movers and now in Kids and Youth. It's been a wonderful journey - the instructors are able to give a lot of individualized attention, more than at other movement activities we've done around Rochester, and a real sense of community develops in the process. The schedule is super flexible, too, not being locked into one time slot every week, unlike gymnastics etc. - and that means they get to work with different instructors, all of whom are great and bring different focuses. Definitely give it a try!

This is such a great place for kids to gain confidence, strength, and coordination in an authentic and organic environment. We have a 4 year old and 7 year old (with extremely different personalities and abilities) who have been attending since last fall and they both love it!The owners are truly passionate about what they do and it shows! The space is not visually overwhelming and it’s calm and quiet, which is great for kids who can’t handle sensory overload. The instructor are kind, approachable, fun and encouraging! There is no cheesy marketing or upsells pushed on you - which I appreciate from a budget and environmental standpoint. Most of all, safety is at the forefront without coming off rigid or authoritative.I am blown away by the progress and confidence my kiddos have gained this past year.Thank you Rochester Parkour team!

My three kids have been in several classes: Tiny Movers, Kids 1 and 2, and Youth 1 and 2 classes. The instructors are great at encouraging safe movement and recognize when a child is ready to try more challenging moves and obstacles. These parkour classes have been amazing for building strength and confidence!

Rochester Parkour has gone above and beyond to work with my son with autism! They have taken the time to get to know him and how he learns best. He loves attending the Game Day classes and working on much needed social skills.

A year ago when I heard the word "parkour" , I thought, "this is the thing rebellious youth do..." I had visions of my son at 32 living in my basement, eating Fritos in his Superman underwear, playing Xbox and only leaving to trespass and jump off things that shouldn't be jumped off. (Like my roof) I'd be lying if I said I wasn't hesitant. But... I was pleasantly surprised. Parkour has been a great experience for our 12 year old. The level of teaching is fantastic. All the staff are not only knowledgeable in "how to teach youth (and adults)" (i.e. recognizing social/emotional cues, setting adequate goals, encouragement, checking in with parents, etc) but they're also very knowledgeable in the technical aspects of the sport . My wife and I have collegiate dance experience and it's exciting to see the teachers share the anatomy and physiology of movement (i.e. why and how our bodies move in certain ways and how we can build on the skills we have to challenge ourselves further). It's far from rebellious youth. If anything --- Parkour can help students understand and achieve more in various other sports simply by learning and training to understand movement.A few suggestions for newbies to consider:- Drop in classes are great to get your feet wet but there are so many various aspects to parkour that a one time experience (whether good or bad) wouldn't give the proper insight to the potential. Give it a few drop in (at least four) classes before deciding if it's right for you. The membership will allow for multiple classes and a broader experience.- While the pandemic and politics have left many of us divided and frustrated, companies have taken a variety of approaches to work through it. Im not here to make a statement on how I feel about masks but to hopefully share something helpful. RocPK (as of today) requires participants and observers to wear masks while in the gym. I am thankful that my son who takes parkour can easily participate and the mask doesn't challenge or frustrate him. This would not be the case for all my children.- If you're not a fan of parallel parking, there's a lot to the left of the building (to your left as your facing the building - past the cider house and brewery)In all, I highly recommend this activity. This has been a great experience. Id love to see something like a RocPK picnic / family fun day where families could come together (maybe outside at a park) and get to know one another more with the staff. It might help build a stronger sense of community. (As parents we value activities because it engages our kids with others, while parkour is different from say your team sports (and that's okay), I think it'd be great encouragement and help us connect with those crazy cool RocPK community.

RockPK is fantastic! I went for about 3 years and could not recommend it enough if you are at all interested in Parkour, or just another way to be healthy and mobile. The staff is very professional, skilled, knowledgeable, and friendly! They have a deep understanding of not only parkour, but exersice science and kinesthetics as well. The classes are incredibly fun and well structured, with each focusing on a specific aspecpt of parkour. Parkour can seem intense from the outside, but they teach the fundamentals in very safe and understandable way, and its not long before your pulling off some really cool stuff! As well as getting a good workout in. From children to adults, everyone is welcome! Seriously this place and these people are great!

Our son has been taking classes here for about three months now, and loves it. The instructors do a great job getting all the kids involved and work with them keep progressing their skills every class. It's great to see him learning a sport that he can do anywhere.
