The Staybridge Suites in Rochester, NY should be avoided at all costs. The assistant general manager, anthony gave us one of the worst 'hospitality' experiences possible. I would suggest choosing any other available option for a night's stay.Safety: Unsafe. Staffing concerns.

Rooms: Very clean and spacious.Walkability: There's a patio and walkway right on the river.Food & drinks: Lots of restaurants in the area. The hotel does offer a social hour with 2 free drinks (wine or beer) and a few finger type foods. They also have free breakfast.

We arrived to check in and the door was locked so we rang the bell. After a good while a lady came to let us in, but not without telling us off and calling us entitled and rude for ringing the bell. The place looks nice enough. The room is as expected for a Staybridge. The walls are paper thin though. We could hear whispers through the wall, never mind loud talking and doors slamming until midnight and then people in the hallways at 5:30 am onwards. Least soundproof hotel I’ve ever been in. Breakfast was ok but there were no bowls or normal sized plates. Just saucers smaller than the waffles. I usually enjoy Staybridge but I will skip this one if we return to Rochester.

From the moment I walked through the front doors I felt welcome.Very nice place to stay! The rooms were CleanThe employees were extremely Friendly and helpful. The breakfast was “ok at best” but the lady in the kitchen made sure you were taken care of 100% she was on top of her game. I’ve never seen a place clean so much. They clean all the time. Not just the surfaces, they remove the cushions, clean under the tables, chairs everywhere. I look out my window in the middle of the night and I still see people cleaning.Rooms: Absolutely clean and like newSafety: I wasn’t worried about anything. I felt safe.Walkability: Easy to make your way through the hotel

This post is more about the IHG corporate and owners of this company they take money from the government for long term stays but don't give points accordingly me and my son stayed there up to 6 months straight during his cancer treatment and they gave him 35000 points what a joke u see what they give for one night- it is despicable !There is a woman that works here named Joanne that went out of her way to make me uncomfortable but everyone else are gr8 nice place good food and clean

Starting with the positives, thank you for a comfortable stay. This hotel has misleading photos I’ve attached them for reference. This hotel is also not safe. Our car was broken into with thousands of dollars worth of purchases missing. Also the feeling of having a stranger breach into your vehicle is displeasing. There is no camera in the parking lot. Someone could break into your car and get away with it due to the lack of security and surveillance. This hotel may be working in collaboration with these criminals.

Christmas 2023: Once again stayed at this hotel over the long Christmas weekend. Very quiet this time, big surprise is the new layout of the lobby dining area with "ultra modern" look, which I'm not a fan of, and the old fireplace was replaced with what looks like a reproduction sanitized installation. Also the dining area appears smaller, at least the breakfast offerings are up to par. Make no mistake the facility is staffed with friendly people. The rooms have all been redone top floor to street level. New carpeting and wallpaper in the hallways is an improvement. Still great location on the Genesee River, still plenty of parking area.See latest photos from this visit.Christmas 2022: Once again visiting Staybridge Suites, happy to say it's still a great place to stay, and breakfast selections never disappoint.Been staying here during visits to Rochester since they opened several years ago and it's always a pleasure. Located near the University of Rochester and the Hospital, set on the Genesee River, we always look forward to our return. Rooms have a suite arrangement with partition between bedroom and living/dining area, with fridge and microwave, and coffemaker. TV's are in both bedroom and living room area. Reasonable rate includes a good selection for breakfast in a bright airy dining area with fireplace, overlooking a bend in the Genesee River. There's an outdoor patio where you may dine. Breakfast includes fruit, eggs, meats, fresh made waffles, cereal, coffee, juices and all you could imagine. Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday they have free evening snacks in the dining area, with wine and beer available. Staff are very friendly and cooperative. Always feels like arriving home when we arrive here! Abundant parking available, and there is an indoor pool, 24 hour pantry and an exercise room open 24 hours. There's a board game area with two computers for internet access. WIFI available, no charge. On a personal note if there's a snorer in the room, the couch is a pull out bed, and the partition allows the other a restful sleep!

I reserved my room through the IHG app as a Gold Rewards member because I needed a room for 7 nights. I came down with Covid, was on isolation precautions, and quarantined in my house for the 1st 2 days of my reservation. When asked for either a refund or to use these 2 days at a later time, I was told by both cooperate and the hotel manager that they couldn't help me out at all nor do anything "since I booked at a discounted rate" to which I replied, "through your app since I'm a gold rewards member. " So, because I was diagnosed with covid and following protocol with CDC guidelines, I am out over $300. Cooprate America doesn't care about their customers anymore, customers aren't a priority to cooperate or to local management..

We’ve been staying here for six weeks, and my absolute favourite part about our stay is Anita in the morning. Chatting with her at breakfast is the best part of my day.Anita, keep up the great work that you do. It is so greatly appreciated!

I want to give this hotel five stars but one sour experience ruined it. When I checked in, the front desk attendant can’t didn’t do it correctly. At 3am another guest barged into my room but luckily the latch was on the door. I immediately called the front desk after some panic from being awoken from a dead sleep. I was informed I was marked as a no-show and room was re-sold. This also happened to 2 other guests (not sure if they were disturbed but the night auditor told me they were no-shows, one is a co-worker who checked in with me).I brought this up the next day to Ben (maybe?) at the front desk when I had to get new keys and he did apologize and I asked for some points or something for compensation as it was a total scare and 100% an employee not doing their job. Sadly nothing has posted or no other follow up.Safety: Latch your safety bolt or you might get expected visitors at 3am!

Hotel has a great view. Social hour was enjoyable and the food was good. Staff were very friendly and polite. Restaurants in the area and fairly close drive to the downtown area. Hotel is newly remodeled and was very clean. I’m looking forward to my next stay.

The hotel is great if you are visiting the University. The pedestrian Bridge is a 4 minute walk to campus. The views of the river are beautiful. The other side (opposite direction from campus) the area is alittle depressed.Hotel is undergoing total renovations, looks great. The rooms are clean and very comfortable.Service is ok, only great from a few employees.Rooms: The rooms have just been renovated. The beds are comfortable. I would recommend the river view side of the hotel.Safety: As long as you are staying in the direction of the university/ campus,Walkability: Very close to campus. 4 minute walk.

Staff at this hotel is extremely friendly and accommodating. They go out of their way to make you feel welcome. The supervisor of house keeping is a hardworking, friendly gentleman. Hotel was very clean (despite on-going construction). Great location. Very convenient to URoc - pleasant walk across a pedestrian bridge and you are on the campus. We will definitely be staying here again if our child chooses to attend URoc or RIT.
