I like the blue dog decor everywhere. Be sure to look up and observe the flags, which help organize the wines. But be sure also to ask for a lay of the land, as you might find some options you would not have noticed otherwise.”

“Okay this is the place to go for all of your liquor needs or if you need to pick something up before dinner at a friend's house. They have one of the largest selections of wines, champagne, hard liquor, etc. that you can find in the area. The prices are decent and the folks in the store know their stuff and try to help you out. They have a lot of wine that's labeled with ratings and descriptions so you can choose the best one that suits your taste. There's a parking lot and folks are usually in and out.”

At Horseneck, they set up a profile for you so they record what wines you've bought and, when you come back, they'll take notes on what you liked, or not. Got six wines on my first visit, loved 4, and appreciated the other two because now I know better what I do /don't like as much. If you want a place where the knowledgable staff really listen, Horseneck is worth a visit (and fwiw I've never had a problem parking in front of the store, even though it's on E Putnam).”
