Being new to the area I did not know a vet that would see Teddy. This vet office is amazing. They got me in on a Saturday. They treated my little guy well and got him medicine. The vet was amazing and walked us through everything. Will definitely bring returning to this vet!”

They explain things thoroughly, don’t recommend unnecessary interventions just for money, respect my decision making, and send a comprehensive visit summary after the appointment. “This is by far the best vet in the area for your pup or pet. My wife and I have a 5.5 year old long haired chihuahua and he is our world. For the past 4 years mandak has been our primary vet and over that time we have had some scares with our little guys heath. The staff here always makes us feel at home, always gets us in ASAP and always, ALWAYS takes care of our baby with the best care possible. “Dr. Johnson is phenomenal! We brought our dog here concerned about a growing skin tag, and she answered all of our questions. After we had surgery to remove it, I brought up other non-related concerns and she patiently answered and informed me. She's knowledgeable, friendly, and it's apparent she loves her job. The same feelings apply to the office overall!”

“We are into a tough spot with our amazing 4 year old boy. Dr. Wormser saw us today and talked through options and realistic outcomes. I was quite emotional. She took all of it stride, was very open about offering options that may not be worthwhile.
It is a one hour drive for me to get to their location. We have a vet specialist about twenty minutes away from where we live. I am so thankful we were I produced to this practice. I did not feel pressured, did not feel like it was a money grab, did not feel like I had to make decisions right away or that I could really make a wrong decision.
While the situation with our guy doesnt seem like it will resolve, I still left there feeling relieved knowing there was no pressure, and that I am educated on our options and outcomes. Thank you!”

“Overall, my experiences here have been quite pleasant when bringing my cat in. The staff is very kind, and by my second visit the receptionist already recognized us and greeted my cat by name, which I really appreciated.

There were only a couple of things that gave me pause. My cat’s bloodwork came back great and showed she was very healthy, which was reassuring. She needed an annual exam and bloodwork prior to being spayed. Initially, a urinalysis was planned, but her bladder was empty at that visit. After that, it was never completed, and I was told it wasn’t necessary since her bloodwork looked good. However, given that she is an older cat and this was her first experience with a veterinarian — something I made clear — I did feel that a more complete workup, including the urinalysis, would have been appropriate.

Another concern was that I never met with the surgeon prior to her spay, which would have given me some peace of mind. Veterinary care is new for both my cat and me, and while she’s been seen there about three times, I’ve only met with the doctor once.

I’m a former nurse, and while I’ve never practiced veterinary medicine, I do have a background in healthcare. Because of that, I feel that bedside manner and both animal-centered and owner-centered care could be improved a bit. During our second visit, I mentioned that my cat had lost a little weight and wasn’t eating much after a recent food change. The technician relayed this to the veterinarian, but the veterinarian did not come in to speak with me directly. While I appreciated the follow-up through the tech, I felt that concerns like this — especially with an upcoming surgery — would have been better addressed directly by the doctor.

That said, this will still be my veterinary practice, and overall I am satisfied with the care provided. I appreciate that they offer surgeries in-house, have an on-site pharmacy, and that the facility is easy to access. I would still recommend this practice to others.”

“Dr. Geagan has been spot on in providing necessary veterinary care for our cat Tarot. Of particular note she relates so well with her that it has a calming effect on her even when she was stressed out. Tarot recently needed to be euthanized and the way Dr. Geagan related to Tarot and to me as well epitomized the highest level of care and interpersonal capability that I truly appreciate.”

“Dr Hernas and her entire staff are just wonderful. They all seem to be devout animal lovers who genuinely care. I’ve been taking my 5 lb tiny, sensitive, toy poodle Dominique there since she was a puppy, now 12 years. Dr. Hernas diagnosed Dominique with Epilepsy when she was five during a very stress-filled period of difficult to describe seizures. Dr. Hernas and her staff and continue to monitor her and as a result, it’s been very controlled ever since. I’ve known Dr. Hernas before using her veterinary services and am here to tell you that her compassion for animals along with her skilled medical and surgical experience is second to no one. I wouldn’t go anywhere else!”

“We love Banfield in Niskayuna. Our latest visit was great! The dr noticed my pet had dry skin and said it was time 2 feed him senior food. Well just a few feeds and his dry skin is all better, It is a relief to me as well as my pet. I appreciate the attentive care my pet receives. Thank you!”

“I was very appreciative that Dr. Taksir was available on Sunday of a holiday weekend to first guide me by phone, then create an appointment within a few hours to see my cat. He was very upfront about costs and options I could pursue and allowed me time to think about it before making decisions. He and staff were kind and he did his best to assess my cat's issue (my cat is not cooperative). The office is a bit outdated but that was insignificant to the speed in which I was given an appointment and service (the other Albany Animal Hospitals open on Sunday had 10 hour waiting periods). I would recommend Dr. Taksir!”
