I've been a SEFCU member for 18 years. I feel like things really went downhill when the mint changed from a 25 dollar minimum to 1 dollar. Things have only gotten worse dealing with them since then. The merger with CAP COM to become Broadview has been disastrous. They routinely deposit checks intended for my personal account into my business account. Last year my card was compromised and it took multiple attempts and ultimately almost eight weeks to get me a new card. They shut my card down a few months ago because I was trying to make a purchase from a non USA retailer. I went in and they reactivated my card and called card services and told me I was good to go. Long story short I had to go back again to get my card reactivated for a second time and ended up just using a different form of payment. I could go on but suffice to say this company is a joke. They used to at least have good tellers now its different faces everytime I go in. Random rules that are enforced differently depending on who you talk to. Bad attitudes and low morale radiate from every SEFCU branch. It's not just this one.

I really can't recommend her in 100% but in summary she regained and was able to help me from my financial mess to a stable and financial balance. Terrible record keeping and banking errors make the low interest rates not worth it.After 6 years of paying an auto loan (headaches of dealing with SEFCU throughout the process) they never confirmed with me that the loan was paid off and continued to make automatic payments from my account.I would highly recommend banking elsewhere. The frequency of mistakes that this organization makes is embarrassingly high.

The slingerlands branch has a revolving door of tellers that just don’t know what’s going on. Rude to older customer next to me and something gets messed up every time I go in. Hire a stable staff. Worried about drinking coffee and talking to 1 another than customer care.

I have been banking with SEFCU for almost 10 years, I've paid off two loans with them, have a debit and credit card, never missed a payment, have good credit. The service I receive lately is atrocious, so bad I am working on moving my money elsewhere, never have I been jerked around so bad and made to feel like I'm the inconvenience when inquiring about my finances. I would not trust your money or get any loans from them. The vista boulevard location is especially bad and this location used to be my go to. SEFCU needs to get it together, seriously this is shameful. I used to love SEFCU and speak highly of them, now I tell all my friends to not bank with SEFCU after the experiences I've had over the past few years. I thought credit unions were supposed to serve the public and loyal customers better than this, if I wanted this treatment I'd just go to a big bank. I can't even get basic questions about my finances answered by tellers it's just "Ummmm I dont know" ok ask a manger?? Does anyone here know what they're doing?? Almost all my money is in SEFCU, this is my livelihood, this is whether I pay rent or not this month, people could at least pretend like they care. If you talk to 5 different employees you get 5 different answers about what they are able to do. Do yourself a favor and skip banking with SEFCU, look elsewhere.

5 employees visible and only one customer in front of me.After 15 minutes I left. Probably should have been vocal with my displeasure. I'd rather they couldn't find employees and were under staffed. It is much worse when employees outnumber the. Customers 5 to 2 and you still can't get service.This happened Sat 8/21 Slingerlands branch at 11:00am. Any manager like to resolve?

SEFCU is the worst! Stay away! I have been trying to make a simple address change... After numerous phone calls and 4 ... count them 4 in person trips to the branch ... the change has not been properly made! Why trust that anything with accounts... payments, interest, etc is being done properly??? Disgusted! Dr John Metallo

Went with SEFCU for my mortgage loan. They knew since the beginning that the estimated completion date for our new home was Sept 30th. The builders even completed early, and we had a CO by Sept 25th. Yet here we are almost a month later and we STILL have not even scheduled a closing date. We gave SEFCU everything they asked for in a timely manner, yet they have had zero sense of urgency while our completed home sits empty and ready to move into. Very unhappy.

If I could get away with no stars, they would definitely get it. I had a car loan through them and man has trading in the car been a nightmare. First off, every month since the car was payed off through dealership I bought new car through, they have taken out the car payment out of my checking account. After numerous calls to them and asking them to cancel it and refund my money back has turned into a production. The 3rd representative finally informed me of the form I was supposed to fill out. So I filled out form and submitted it. Next month, same thing took the money out of the account. So I called again and found out my account number was now different from one I was given with loan! How that works, we are still trying to figure it out. Mind you have ALL paperwork ever sent from them regarding the loan was in front of me so, yes account number was same on all of it. The new customer service representative I was speaking to now gave me my new number and explained that is why form was denied. Which also never even got notification that it was denied. So now the money they have previously owed to me is been in mail via check for over month and hasn't showen up. Now they refuse to cancel check and I have to wait 90 days from each date the money was taken out. They managers answer has been to contact USPS, its their fault. So glad they blaming others when they can not even get themselves together. Oh and a different customer service representative told me they charge to send out check. Which not one single person told me prior to this, and there was multiple people I had to talked to at this point. I was informed this was only way to get money back. So glad they can take money from account in less then a second. Yet they wait months to give you your money back. So now the next representative I have spoken too explained that the rest of the money can be given back via online checking and confused why that was not a given option to me. As explained to me, I tried to set up and online banking account to get rest of money back faster. Thats just as much of a joke. When you file information it says it will 1 to 2 businees days to finalize request. Been weeks and still no approval and keep submitting it because I am livid at this point and want my money back. Oh and new account number they gave me doesnt match! So I use old one to put an application through. What a joke that is. DO NOT TAKE OUT A LOAN WOTH THEM! Seriously, no matter how great the rate is. It will be a massive headache in the long run!
