I drive over an hour to see them as there are very limited vets that work with exotics in my area, and it's always worth the drive. They're very caring and patiently listen to any concerns I have about my precious babies ? I also genuinely appreciate that they don't try to drain you of every penny and will even suggest less expensive places to obtain supplements/certain treatments rather than pressuring you to purchase it thru them. One of my bunnies requires frequent cleaning with a special solution and they showed me where I could buy a jug of it rather than making me get small bottles thru them.”

“I brought my budgie, Blu, here after I noticed that she was breathing harder than usual. I called on a Monday and was able to get a same day appointment. Dr Stachnik examined her and determined she might have a respiratory infection. I was sent home with medication for her. Dr Stachnik, along with a student, was amazing! She was so gentle, sweet, caring, answered any questions, and seems to love her job. She even called me the next day to ask how Blu was doing. The receptionists, the woman who gathered Blu’s information before we saw the dr, and the student that helped out were all very kind and helpful. Blu seems to be doing much better. I also scheduled check ups for my other 3 birds. The prices are very reasonable! I’d highly recommend!”

“I called as I was concerned I just found a tick on my puppy. I was also in the process of looking for a new vet for my puppy. They got me in right away to see my puppy, safely remove the tick, give him an exam, and educate us on what vaccine series and treatments our puppy needs. “*UPDATE* I came to leave a review not realizing I already left one. But I need to add more. I recently had to put my biggie to sleep. He was only 6. His liver started failing. Possibly cancer. I'll never know. It's the worst experience I've ever been through. 3 weeks of hell watching my baby get sicker and sicker, nothing i did helped. But from the moment I walked into this place on Feb 1st at 330, I'll never forget. I was met by Lori in reception. She brought us back to our room and walked us through what to expect. She even cried with us and shared one of her stories. "The grief won't go away, but life will grow around it and you will be OK." Lori, thank you for everything. We will never forget you! Thank you for helping make this terrible nightmare a little more tolerable. ♥️♥️♥️ I just picked up his ashes today and he'll be sleeping next to me. “Been going to McBrides since i was little with our family cats. Fast forward to my adult years and still here. I wouldn't trust my two dogs with ANYONE else. Doctor Parkhill is compassionate, extremely knowledgeable, and many other things, but she will also tell you the facts so you know exactly what you need to know to care for your animal properly . Many many times she has stayed after hours to not only squeeze myself in but others. When we had to put our Diamond girl down, my husband was so distraught. She made myself and my husband so at ease. She gave us all the time we needed and made sure the office was quiet during our time.Doc Parkhill also saved our CoCo with a full mastectomy. She was a rescue who was bred way too young. If it wasn’t for her catching the tiny lump, it would have possibly developed into breast cancer. Thank you Doc Parkhill for all you do. Your passion for you job truly shows.”

“I am so happy with ASAH! Dr. Stein and his staff are extremely knowledgeable and kind. I am a nurse practitioner and I am very picky about my dogs care. I have been to 4 different veterinary clinics in both Amherst and the southtowns trying to find a good fit. I have found it! My dog, Hazel, got an ovary sparing spay and also her umbilical hernia fixed. I was able to see the OR which is immaculate.The surgery went very well and Hazel showed no signs of pain. She healed up very nicely. I will be transferring her care and my cats care to Dr. Stein. In my years as an animal lover I have never been able to find a vet who was consistent and took their time with me and my animals…rest assured I have found this in ASAH!”

“5 years ago we came to Elma for a 2nd opinion. We suspected our dog had bladder stones as he had 5 years previously but our vet didn’t feel an X-ray was warranted. Elma reviewed his records, did an exam and agreed an X-ray was the next step. They found bladder stones, conducted surgery to remove them and they earned our business. We brought 5 dogs to them and they’ve treated us and them like family. Everyone from their reception staff to their vet techs to their vets are excellent. Our two remaining dogs are 16 years old and Elma has helped them to remain comfortable in their retirement years. They’ve treated us with compassion and we trust their advice wholeheartedly.”
