“I adopted a pair of kittens and have been taking them here since June. The entire staff from the Doctors, Vet Techs, office staff are just simply incredible. They saved my kitten Cider when I rushed her in and we found her kidneys were failing. Layne was especially amazing with Cider and if it wasn’t for them making me laugh during such scary time, I wouldn’t have been able to drive myself home! Layne is the most amazing vet tech I’ve ever had take care of one of my pets.”

“I truly can not say enough good things about this office and the staff.
I had adopted a large breed dog from a local shelter and he was not neutered prior to picking him up because he was sick. Between then and when I was supposed to bring him back he was injured playing with my other dog and my regular vet informed me they usually wait to neuter giant breeds so they have time to grow properly and to check with the shelter to see if this was okay since they felt it was very necessary given his rough start to life. After much back and forth with the shelter and their vet and eventually my lawyer, the shelter agreed to a vasectomy. My regular vet does not do them so I had to find one that did. Luckily I came across Amherst Small Animal Hospital.
From start to finish their staff was kind, helpful and understanding. Dr. Stein absolutely agreed with my regular vet and said this was in the best interest of my dog's long term growth and fit me in to adhere to the very tight deadline I had. Dr. Stein was incredibly kind and professional. He listened to my story, gave me his background, told me the science behind why it was important for my dog and reassured me that I made the right choice in fighting for this course of action. The staff was kind, understanding, professional and also reassuring both on the phone and in person.
I will forever be grateful to this practice and staff for their care and support.”

“They are very good with communication, prior to the procedure they sent multiple emails so all the paperwork was deleted and there would be no issues the day of surgery. Drop off and pick up or smooth and minimal contact. They called after surgery was done to update me on how things went, and then the discharge instructions were reviewed at time of pickup (but also had been emailed a link for an audio file of the instructions, and was given a paper copy).”

“After getting a young kitten for the very first time, my mind was bombarded with questions and fear of the unknown. Thankfully, I was able to speak with the McClelland staff and schedule a new patient appointment with no problem. When we arrived, we were quickly greeted with a friendly welcome. All the staff members were attentive and courteous. Dr. Carrig provided a thorough exam on our kitten, while answering our questions and fully addressing our concerns. You can tell he is very knowledgeable, and passionate about his profession. We know we are in great care in his hands and look forward to many years of visiting McClelland! 10/10 for outstanding service!”

“Great new patient experience here! One of my cats injured her eye and we couldn’t get in anywhere nearby. VCA’s website and check in over text was super easy to navigate, book the appointment, and have them contact my vet for the records transfer. We were seen quickly and in and out within an hour. My girl’s eye has been examined and given the all clear to continue healing. Having her weighed, given a full assessment, and treated so well by the staff. She’s super vocal and was comfortable in the exam room, which was a relief as we’re new here. Definitely will be coming back with my other cats, as the hours and availability of appointments is so important to us. We also appreciate the new patient coupon. Thank you VCA!”
