Every morning when you arrive the entire team is welcoming and eager to greet on a first name basis for the whole family. The teachers are incredibly caring and attentive. They listen to developmental goals and work with students to help achieve those goals.Our child has grown with Primrose from infant to toddler and is about to make his way into early preschool. We have been very happy how the daily classroom structures and curriculum have grown with him to continually promote development.Primrose is also great at keeping parents involved and in the know. School announcements are made promptly and clearly communicated. Parents are invited into classrooms to celebrate events throughout the year and are often invited to spend time reading to the classrooms on Friday mornings. In addition, parents are given frequent daily updates through the school app so you can see exactly what your little one is up to and learning about throughout the day. This makes it easy to continue the lessons after school at home.We look forward to continuing to see our son develop at Primrose.”

“Linda and her team worked worked very hard to accommodate my 1 year old son into their infant program.The school has been a blessing to my family. The Day care has very flexible hours and they allow drop off as early as 7AM and pickup as late as 6PM which is wonderful for working parents, such as myself.The Daycare provides Breakfast, lunch and snacks. The meals are Kosher (we prefer Halal & Kosher food) and are prepared fresh daily.The teachers are amazing! The wonderful teachers really make this place what it is, and my son looks forward to going there every day.Communication is terrific and we are notified of everything. I receive pictures daily of my son participating in various activities. My husband and I have noticed a huge change in his development and the school has helped him achieve all of the important milestones.I cannot recommend this school enough!I am very grateful to Linda and her staff for taking care of my son and for providing him with so much love and care, while he is away from home.”

“After spending the first 15 months at home with baby, the process of finding a great daycare that would met my needs and wants was not an easy task. From the minute we came for a tour, baby was very responsive, walking up to the administrative staff. It was clear my child was very pleased and enjoyed the environment.Having access to the app to see all the pictures that are posted and any questions I may have during the day is also an added benefit. Since starting at the wooden shoe, there is so much noticeable social development that we have witnessed, especially learning. Singing the alphabet , counting and just more socially excited and engaged with people are some of the few benefits of this daycare. Most importantly, from the minute I drop off my child I am not anxious, worried or concerned, because I know they are being properly cared for and loved on. All the teachers know my childs name and are soo kind. Kids want to feel important and have a desire for belonging. I can see by the way my child is excited about daycare from the minute we park the car out front, that they feel the love from everyone there. Every meal, diaper change and naps are tracked in the app, thats some great attention to detail. Even when you are away you can still keep track of what your child is doing in the day, its nice.Some other things I like that are not related to childcare, i really like how responsive the administrative staff is. I can send an email in the morning and get extremely fast responses. As a healthcare professional, I take professionalism extremely seriously, so this is a huge plus. I really like how they present themselves when it comes down to my questions and providing answers. Also, we communicate with the teacher what we are teaching our child at home, and the teacher reinforces that in school and vice versa. Its great all around.Daycare is an investment in your child's future. And this is an investment that we are extremely happy to make. This place is an answered prayer, very grateful to God for everyone at the Wooden Shoe :)”

“Exceptional preschool! My daughter was born during the pandemic and my husband and took care of her while working from home. We did not put her in a daycare, and we had no clue about the 3K program until just before the deadline for applications in 2023. I called this school for a tour and the director and staff patiently addressed all our questions and welcomed our then 3yo and 2yo for a tour. We hoped and prayed our 3yo would get into the 3k program in Fall 2023 and thankfully, she did.

Throughout the year, my daughter’s teachers showed genuine love and care towards her. I never felt like they were there just because it was their job, but I always felt like they truly cared about her. They found ways to always connect with her and with us. This was her first ever school year, her first time to be ever away from home daily under the care of people aside from myself and my husband, and she always felt at home. I never had to worry if she was in good hands because I always felt at ease with the teachers.

The director, assistant director and other staff also knew my daughter by name. They too showed genuine concern for her well-being, and I just couldn’t imagine choosing another school for my girl.

“I love this school as well as the teachers and staff at Stepping Stone Pre and Grade School. They know every kid by name as well as the child’s needs, enabling them to provide all that is needed for each child to learn and grow! My daughter currently attends Stepping stone the teachers have been beyond amazing, and passionate about educating the children. They really know what they are doing & are very well trained. The classrooms’ presence is very warm and welcoming while the teachers seem to maintain an encouraging fun vibe so the children seem to have a lot of fun in class and are excited to go to school!”

“We have been a part of Kings Bay Y now for over 4 years. This is our last year as part of the education program. To say we are sad is an understatement. The teachers have been nothing short of phenomenal with the kids. They truly do care about each kid. We are sending the kids to the day camp now as well. While technically my 5 year old could go to the "big kids" camo, she will be going to the preschool camp one last time just because we aren't ready to say goodbye to the teachers and friends that have been made.My older daughter will be going into her second year in the day camp. She had a great first year and loved her counselors and the friends she made. She will be joining the same group from last year.I highly recommend attending the school as well as the day camp.”

“My four-year-old just spent the last two years at Rainbowland and we are so grateful for all the care and attention she received there. She learned all she needed to be confident and prepared for Kindergarten and made many friends. Additionally, every staff member has been incredibly kind to us as parents: they communicated well about the schedule and what was going on in the classroom, and were extremely helpful anytime we had a concern (which was seldom). Because they are a daycare center as well, they were able to watch our daughter when the 3-k and pre-k public school calendars had holidays, which was VERY helpful. In the last couple weeks before her after-school program started at her new school, they were able to accommodate us and bridge the childcare gap. I cannot say enough good things about them!”

“We had my daughter's birthday at Sky Village - Astoria Park and it was perfect. The kids had a lot of fun running around and doing the art activity. The space was perfectly decorated and the staff was so kind and easy to work with. My daughter said it was her best birthday so far :) Highly recommend if you're looking for a fun party space in Astoria!”
