“Been buying pig food for the last two years and the last six months or so you can't seem to get it? Even though it shows eight in inventory for the last four months maybe longer. Don't know who does your inventory but you really should learn how to do it. Been buying the feed elsewhere. Was told many times that it was coming in but never shows up. Spend a lot of money on feed there the last two+ years you just lost a farmer who will be going elsewhere from now on. UPDATED: I was contacted by one of the owners and he corrected the problem, and all is good. Great customer service. Update 5 stars for Customer service”
“I transferred my potted lillies to in ground. The deer discovered them, but that should keep them from taking over the pond, as my friends have warned me. The fish were using the pots to nest in, so that is a newbie fail on my part.”
“We have been buying our plants and flowers from them for several years now. the staff is super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful on selection. the plants are very well maintained and very healthy.”
“The "Factory" element of this facility is evident driving in: a huge retail store with highest quality goods with very large yards. Interestingly, they even offer a 50% guarantee on plantings!”
“Beautiful plants and reasonably fair prices especially for plant quality. It doesn't stop there, take a walk out back through their beautiful ever blooming park like garden. More colors and smells than you can imagine along with a beautiful pond full of life!”
“What a wonderful experience I had today and what a great store! I brought in a clump of grass because I didn't know what it was. An intelligent woman (Val) identified it quickly and told me everything I needed to know about getting rid of it (Bent grass), how and when to seed afterwards, and set me up with all I needed. It was SO refreshing to be able to converse with someone in a relaxed manner ... in this world of machines and Home Depot experiences. I actually look forward to visiting again for other lawn and garden needs. I'm also going to order 3 yards of topsoil with a very fair $50 delivery fee. Update: I laid the topsoil down and it went great. Two weeks later I wanted to just top-dress a few areas, and bought a few bags of their packaged topsoil that has some compost added. It's awesome. It's what I've always hoped for but was never able to get it at Home Depot. The Home Depot soil was always a big, hard clump ... with decomposed branches in it. Not very spreadable at all. The ones I bought today are perfectly moist and dark - and completely spreadable. The white specks in the photo are a bit of grass seed I put down. The price special was 5 bags for $27. Update #2: I laid down some of their brand grass seed 4 weeks ago. I had always used Scott's grass seed from Home Depot and was not crazy about it. So far the seed from Van Putte is doing very well for me. It's coming in fine. We're having a nice warm spell here (80 degrees on Oct 22) and that helps. Their seed may grow a little slower than Scott's and doesn't have fancy packaging or fertilizer on the seed, but I won't buy Scott's again. Van Putte sells Scott's too I think, but again, so far, I am liking theirs best. I had even bought a bag of Jonathan's Black Beauty toward the end of summer, and like a few other reviews of that product, I think I got a dud bag. I don't see where one blade of it ever grew. I did use Jonathan's Winter Survival and their Mag-i-Cal for hard soil and think it's great. Attaching two new photos -- the invasive creeping Bent grass - see all the nasty stolons and roots! And that photo is after 10x raising it with a dethatching rake and mowing on the lowest setting, and is after 4 weeks of applying Killzall glyphosate. It's so pervasive. And here's a photo of new grass growing amongst the kill off.”
“The oldest business in Chili, it used to have its own siding from the railroad and it was called Chili Station. They sell everything for farms and more. A homeowner in the area could get a multitude of dog foods, grass seed, bird feeders and bird seed. Food for a variety of other pets. Fence posts, coal, and they have a scale in front. It's a great place to step back into a building and after a couple trips the staff get to know you. They also deliver. A cool nod to the past is they still use paper to write out your receipt. The floors are old wooden planks and they just started with chick days again. Fabulous place.”
“Came here to check out their selection of window blinds and to see how they actually work. They had a nice set up with a few different models to try out. Found out they offer more colors on line than in the store. They are able to customs cut the blinds in store if needed. Good to know! The store has so many home items and a fair price. I was checking out their garden, hardware and carpet areas. Definitely a great place to shop when updating your home or yard. Staff was very friendly and greeted me more than one occasion. Located on west ridge road, parking lot was busy but it was a Saturday...”
“Awesome! I just purchased new toys. In addition, I was lucky to find some paper towels!!! Which I can’t believe as PT is still scarce. Now I look forward to chores. yeehaw!”
“They have what you need, usually when you need it. Recommend to reserve what you want if you can. Staffing is an issue at times, as they can be busy or are not present when needed.”
“I've ordered a variety of seeds from Harris as well as seed potatoes. Germination was great and they grew into productive plants. Shipping was fast. The orders were accurately filled. Very good experiences with Harris Seeds.”
“The young gentleman of color.i didnt get his name at customer service register at 1:30 2:00 today sept 10 was awesome. Cant emphasize enough how he took care of my warranty exchange of hot water tank. Give him a homer.he deserves it
Thank you”
“Got two of my rats from here. Sadly they were both just awful in behavior and clearly not handled at all, but that's what you get from a store so my other babies are from breeders. Otherwise they carry a ton of toys and feed I buy regularly. Like other reviewers said, the pet care at this location needs to change. Prices are horrendously high and that means pets stay here for long in the small enclosures they give them. There are signs asking for pet toy donations... like Countrymax isn't a chain that could simply afford those. The cashiers never ask for my phone number on my orders, so I am a bit confused what the point was for me to sign up for the rewards.”
“It's a home depot. I did have a few workers ask if needed help/had any questions which was better than most home depots where it seems like there is nobody around to help.”
“Not McCracken but is the next best thing! $6 pumpkins any size from the patch is a fantastic price. The ticket price includes many fun things for the kids to do. My kids absolutely love it here. The hayride after getting the pumpkins is lovely. It’s a long hayride and very scenic. Corn Maze is challenging and fun! Took off a star because the one thing they need to work on is the food stand. They had almost nothing. No hot cocoa, cider was running out, no donuts but still was a good experience. You guys definitely gotta have donuts and cider though it’s part of the whole experience. Highly recommend this place!”
