About Allison Pond Park

Allison Pond Park is a small, nature-like park centered around a big pond. The pond features ducks, larger turtles, and marshy areas, with a sprinkler system in the middle that shoots out like a geyser. It is a lovely patch of nature, clean and refreshing. The true treasure is the strip of old-growth woods stretching behind the pond, which feels like being in the middle of a forest. This area contains trails, a babbling brook, a tiny waterfall, another pond with a bridge, and ruins of old stone structures. An old tree-stump amphitheater can be found, though it is overgrown. The trails are great for walking in any season, including fall and winter, and are good for snowshoeing. Visitors might see wildlife like deer or fox, and can look for bugs and fungi. It is a good place to walk a dog or have a summer picnic. However, the trails are not manicured; they can have muddy patches, overgrown areas, and tree roots, requiring good shoes. The park has no amenities, including no benches and no bathroom. It is a place to walk around and pass the time, enjoying the excellent wildlife.
