“Let me tell you, this $1.25 store has good lighting and a good layout. It is more open than the one further east on Queens Blvd and north in Astoria. Vibe check is ok. Crowd is usually on the more senior side and not sketchy. Like most dollar stores it's usually understaffed and tends to have only one cashier. Lines form in an aisle so if it looks like the line is too good to be true, it may well be, but do check the aisle across the register before people yell. I love browsing. You'll find the most random things and also the most useful, and wonder how they sell them for a fraction of what Home Depot or BBB charges. Like knock off command hooks, hair ties, school supplies, kitchen supplies, craft items, and helium balloons! Merch is updated fairly frequently which makes every trip a new adventure. Pop in and see how you can stretch your dollars.”

“People's is my favorite neighborhood store! There are a few things that can not be found in this gem most of the time. It is the place to go when your pockets are low, but you need supplies for your home. They sell clothing, housewares, medicines, cosmetics, and hair care. And I would be remiss to mention all the things you need and didn't realize you wanted. I always ♥️ ❤️ love to shop in this store. And now they have expanded to another store across Broadway!”

“I love this place, good items at very good prices, I understand that these stores steal a lot. But that doesn't mean that all people are the same, and I hate that they go after me as if I were going to steal something. I am a person of values and principles. But the lion judges well by his condition.”

“Five below - a variation of the familiar "everything for 1 dollar stores". You can find here almost anything you can think of for 5$ or less (note that few things actually cost more). Toys, candy, electronics, household items, fashion accessories... and the list goes on and on. This is a great spot to buy small gifts and souvenirs.”

“Very good store, I’ve been shopping here for almost 15 years, very nice workers. Always helpful. This is the best 99 cent store in church av, maybe even the best in New York. Unlike other 99. This store cares about the well being of the customers. They always ask me how my day is and how am I. Overall this is the best 99 cent store I’ve been to.”

“Nice people and place to shop. Prices used to be reasonable, some things still are but since COVID, the prices keep going up&up &up&up.?? Sadly, now it’s not as nice an experience, like shopping there before.”

“Daiso is a Japanese brand that’s equivalent to US’s 99 cents store. But items are more unique, diverse and at times, chic. Daiso is also very popular in South Korea and in Korean language, Daiso literally means, pun intended, ‘we have everything.’Indeed this Japanese mart has literally everything you need for the house and school. Dinnerware, snacks, gardening needs, clothing, stationary, cleaning products, etc., just name it and they have it. However, the quality of their products are suspicious at best. It’s fun to browse through the mart. It’s fun to purchase a thing or two you may need. But beware, these things will not last long.”

“I have been shopping there for over five years, and Have never had a bad moment or merchandise...I just think that sometimes their prices; is not so much of a deal...for a closeout store, they should be selling stuff waaaay below cost...other than that..I love the store. Sorry if others beg to differ...To each his own I guess....”

“Price Wise sells everything from makeup to masks to paper towels to candy and even underwear for ladies and gentlemen. You are always greeted with a smile. Their staff can guide you to find whatever it is you are looking for.”

“Pretty well stocked. Not too messy for holiday time. Staff appeared unwilling to assist the disabled on my last trip. I saw someone with a walker struggling to manuever through stock items strewn about within the aisles while in the vicinity of a shelf stocking staff member, and the customer was ignored. Hopefully this was a seasonal helper, and she won't still be working there when I return.”

“This place became an essential source of basic supplies during quarantine, and once the city opened back up I kept shopping there because their selection of affordable basics is impressive. Even though the prices are affordable a lot of the products are not poor quality. You'll (sometimes) find brand names like Ziploc, Reynolds, Dawn - all cheaper than Amazon or Target. Masks, hand sanitizer, and GOOD household cleaners and disinfectants are all plentiful. Their tool section is also really great, door stops, rope, screwdrivers, batteries, wrenches, hammers, nails and screws. They have tons of kitchen supplies as well as glassware. Also underwear and socks, hair products. And random things like magnets with funny faces and gaudy pictures of glittery flowers. They pack a lot into a very small space and it's always very organized. And the cashiers are always very nice!”

“I was visiting the area and discovered my internet, and google maps feature did not work on my phone when I got to New York from Calgary, Alberta, Canada. I was on the phone to my cell phone provider tech support for 2 hours between three calls, and they couldnt figure it out. I drove around in circles for hours, from JFK airport and ended up at this shop looking for a map to buy. The owner got his son and he figured out how to download a map and use it off line. It got me to where I need to go. I wll never fotget how the little discount store in the Bronx help me out and would not accept anything in return. This tells me they are very very good people here. Thank you for your help and support.”

“They are all so nice and the store has everything you need. I got a small fake tree for $10 and the similar one at target was going for $60. Best place for household and seasonal items, I know I’m always getting a good deal.”

“This store is nice as 5 Below stores go. It's still a cool place to take the little ones to get a few things. its nicely stocked, and the staff seems pretty helpful. Judging from the couple times I've requested assistance there.”

“Great deals. They sell some name brand items but be careful. Some are defective. They have pots pans clothes body wash dove soap They have for less than other stores.”

“This store is a lot of fun. To call it a 'Japanese dollar store' would be wrong because everything isn't a dollar. The prices are in Yen and there are a few signs in every aisle with the conversion to US dollars. If an item doesn't have a price in Yen then its $1.99. There are aisles with school supplies, home decorating, toys, art and crafts, travel items, automotive, gardening supplies, home organizing for home office, bathroom and kitchen, house cleaning, beauty, kitchen and cooking supplies, dishes and cups plus some snacks. Everything has a very neat Japanese aesthetic and a good amount of cuteness. Many home decor items are seasonal so grab them while you can, other things like cleaning and home organizing are always available. I like getting short drinking straws for small lunchbox drinks, storage bins to organize my fridge, and a rice mold to make California rolls at home easily. Their stationery items are great- super cute, unique post its, erasable highlighters (Yes! They DO erase!)all sorts of paper clips and note books. Remember that Japanese homes are small and they use space wisely, so housewares are scaled down. You won't find huge 18" long rolls of foil like in American supermarkets, but you will find petite silicone bakeware and rolls of plastic and parchment in proportion to that. You'll find everything to pack a super thorough lunch right down to mini bottles for sauces and little condiment cups with lids. Its a great store and I always find cool stuff to buy!”
