Such a great setup they have and sweet people. you NEED to get your fruits and veggies here and support local gardens! Especially those with ebt, they give ebt users a special deal.

I have been a gardener with Capital Roots off and on for a few years. Years ago they were under different management and it seems that folks were more respectful and also left you alone. Now they have all these rules without any options. I used to garden at Sam Yanni in North Albany but this time my partner and I signed up to start garden at the Arthur T. Scott location in Albany.1. The guy Mark is prejudice against blacks and gays and didn't want to serve us when we signed up in may. Thank you EMILY for taking the time to serve us and help us sort things out. Staff even told me that he tries to police gardeners and has dated ideology. Why is this guy even in these positions if he's a bigot?2. Isabella emailed me to say that our plot has been flagged. Then suggested it was because we didn't have time to visit. My partner and I visit 3-4 times a week but her and I are not experts. Give us some tips. The plot leader, Debbie, offered no support and literally has the garden fenced and attached to her back yard in which she has another entrance. She even let her dog in there. There were stray cats in and out the garden. It wasn't a community as her husband called someone to say that WE were in the garden. We paid for this plot and he didn't even greet us or speak to us.3. Someone removed one of our plants. I did let them know at the office and they said it must've been an animal without further investigating it. The soil was dead and plants were diseased from neighboring plants that wasn't showed any love or attention. This place isn't communal. No one cares. Too many whites in positions to tell us black and brown gardeners what to do. AVOID AT ALL COST AND IM FURTHER REPORTING THEM.

Inexpensive sampling of local fresh vegetables, cheeses and such. Always has ripe bananas and fruit.

Not really impressed, maybe I misunderstand the concept. Some fruits were borderline rotten in the bins, small small selection of produce. And a couple people sitting at desks and one had walked right past me didn't even acknowledge my presence while I stood there waiting for someone to check me out. Try working on your customer service skills please.

New to the area, I looked up community gardens. I signed up online for a spot on Capital Roots website. This is an incredible community resource. They have dozens of gardens all over the capital district. And their offices are incredible. They have fresh produce, merch, seeds, and plants for sale. They have classrooms, a mobile unit, and all sorts of programming available. Awesome!

Im sorry but when youre trapping and killing wildlife I cant give a decent review. You could have brought the baby rabbits across the street to the woman who rehabs wildlife, but instead you chose to kill them and toss 'em in your compost pile.

This was our first visit as we saw they were having a plant sale. The people were not only very friendly but also very helpful. I will now keep track of events they will sponsor.
