My son and I stayed here last year but I neglected to write a review at the time. The architecture is lovely and the antiques were just wonderful. Like a step back in time! At the time we were here, the other upstairs rooms weren't occupied so we had the bathroom to ourselves. Tina very welcoming and let us store some food in her fridge. The cooking was very good and we had a large selection to choose from. We shared enjoyable meals with other guests who were visiting from abroad. The home is not in the greatest part of town but it felt plenty safe to us and there was off-street parking available. This might not be the best choice if you have mobility issues as you might have to take stairs but I managed. I would definitely come back again. Thank you, Tina!

We arrived a little early (11 AM) to drop some bags prior to check in at 4 PM. The host became very upset when we walked in and immediately began screaming and shouting at us about how overwhelmed and overworked she was, and how much of a problem it was that we had showed up early (which she had been made aware of prior to our arrival). She was extremely agitated and hostile, which made us feel very uncomfortable and unwelcome throughout the remainder of our stay. It is unacceptable to shout at perfect strangers in this way and we felt very upset by this. She went on to discuss politics (inappropriate) and make excuses for her unacceptable behavior. The actual building and facilities are fine. However, I would recommend avoiding a stay here as the host is very volatile and creates an incredibly stressful and unpleasant environment—not what you hope for on a weekend away.Tina, if you do read this, you immediately put us off and I sure hope you don’t make a habit of screaming at your guests. If you are so unhappy at work that you feel the need to shout at total strangers and customers, please reconsider hospitality as a career.

I really LOVE this place. If you want to feel like a tourist then go to the corporate lodging. If you want to feel like family from the moment you enter the front door stay here. You will leave with a full breakfast and stories to tell all your friends. Be sure to take many pictures of this incredible structure.Noteworthy details: Now picture a movie that is showing a judge back at the turn of the last century. What would their home look like. If you can't exactly guess but would like to walk back 100+ years book a stay in the judges mansion.

The accommodation was great, and the host was very pleasant. I really enjoyed the building and the company. I was, however, very put off by the neighborhood. I suppose that I should have done more research, but the neighborhood was not what I was expecting. Be very careful there at night.

This place is infested with bed bugs! I have never seen bed bugs before or after my stay here but was woken after only an hour nap covered in them. We were unable to contact the owner and she has made no attempt to contact us. Had to spend the next day at the laundromat and ended up having an terrible vacation in NY. Also the location is pretty rough and you will hear loud cars all night and day.

Don't let the website fool you. This business is in a less than desirable area. I was relieved to have a rental, and not my personal vehicle, in case it was damaged. The area is extremely loud. Teens were talking loudly at midnight, motor-cross bikes zipped through the neighborhood and a police car flew through with sirens at 1 am. I did NOT feel safe. If I could give it less than one star, I would.Safety: A realistic concern.

We have pictures and videos of the bed bugs, and the owner acknowledges that she was contacted and informed of the situation by Hopper, and never bothered to come down stairs to check on us. Her response to hopper informing her of the situation was “tell them to leave the key when they leave.” Never once has she reached out to make sure we were safe leaving our hotel at 2 am and hunting for arrangements. The comment insinuating that I brought bugs into the room is quite telling in itself. Take responsibility for your property. This is a health concern.

We stayed in the Gluha room a week ago. There are bedbugs in this room - I was bitten approximately 300 times in one night only (I have pictures). We let the owner know 4 days ago about it, she told us she had never received any complaints (however, I see that another review mentions the bedbugs a few days before I even called...). She just said she would check the bed and spray the room. The rooms are all carpeted, and there are curtains / decorating fabric everywhere, so I don't think quickly spraying the room would do much. Our trip was ruined - we spent our first night at our destination just doing laundry and putting everything in garbage bags to avoid spreading them, and were worried sick the entire time. The owner never offered a refund, or even an apology.

We had such a good time staying here. Tina was a delight. Felt like staying at a friend's house. The VHS tapes everywhere brought back memories of a simpler time. Tina made breakfast and chatted with us. Would stay again! Thanks Tina :)

We arrived at 8:20 on a Saturday night. By 8:45pm, we had packed up our bags and left. There was only one other guest staying in the whole place, and when I tried to ask the owner if we could switch to a less noisy room, we got a barrage of verbal bullying and abuse. I tried to explain that I wasn't complaining about the noise (car radios blaring and racing motorcycles), but was just asking about a room facing the back of the house. She escalated to banging on our door, and aggressively suggesting that we leave. Not sure what "normal" might look like to her, but that wasn't it. We left, and were able to quickly find lodging outside the area. I would NOT recommend this place to anyone!!
