Appreciate how they love on the doggies as the come for appts. Don't like that when calling, it takes multiple calls before talking with someone. Also, scheduling an appt online WILL NOT SYNC with in office calendar. Have to call in to confirm. Vicious cycle

This review would definitely be 5 if it were not for the fact that calling the hospital is HORRIBLE. If you ever get to speak with someone on the phone then you are lucky. They need to work on that aspect. There is no way this wonderful place should have such a terrible reputation of answering the phone. The Doctors and aides that work there are always excellent with the pups.

I don't even understand how they are open or have clients. You call and call and no one picks up the phone. Voice mailbox is empty so i can't even leave a message. Its sooooo irritating

Banfield doctors are great , if you have an appointment scheduled.However, the low rating is because it’s extremely difficult to get someone on the phone. If you leave a voicemail no one ever calls you back. Have someone assigned to work phones to improve your overall customer service. I tried a few time a day and no one answered, it goes directly to the voice message. No one called me back . After a week I called back and finnaly got someone on the phone, after trying so many times again. Now I'm trying to cancel and reschedule and again is no way I can get thru. This is so frustrating. That really makes me not go there any longer and cancel the insurance for my puppy.Anyway if you have insurance is still not covering for a lot of stuff. I always paid another $100 - $200 at least every time I took my puppy for regular vaccines or visits.Too bad that people do not like to work anymore. I'm wondering if they go out of business what are they going to do.I will look for another hospital for my puppy .This is just very upsetting . I don't have time to call every day to schedule an appt.I also see lots of bad reviews for a while and I'm sure everyone emailed to the email that is given on the response , but no one is still doing anything about it.

It genuinely sucked. Only good thing was the vaccine but then i was doing the payment plan but of course they never answered and i couldn’t even LOG into my account but as soon as i owed money they suddenly were able to get me in. I’m going to cancel my account since i don’t even go here anymore or pay for the low tier service.

I have two pets on the Optumum wellness plan and it is impossible to get an appointment for simple things like vaccines!Scheduled an appointment for 11/17/23 they left a msg stating that the vet won’t be in, didn’t bother to offer dates to reschedule. Called back, was on hold for 45 minutes.. they got us in for a drop off on 11/21/23 at 8:45.. I show up at 8:30 only to find out their systems were down and we couldn’t even transfer the pets profiles to a different location. When I asked the girl at the counter why she didn’t call she said “it was too late to call”.. They open at 8 am but it was too late to call for a heads up? Drove 2 hours around the city for this nonsense!

If I could give 0 stars I would. This vet is impossible to get on the phone and never refills prescriptions in a timely manner with Chewy. Chewy has been trying to get in touch since Nov 30th to refill Apoquel for my dog, it is December 5 at 8:30 am, Banfield in Valley Stream opens at 8 and when I call the message says they're currently closed. I need my dog's medicine refilled. I need Banfield to fill out one of the multiple requests that Chewy has sent in order to refill the prescription. I pay for a wellness plan that is so difficult to use and make an appointment that I might as well throw away my money

The pet hospital never picks up the phone. I am paying a monthly insurance fee for my both dogs to be seen and could never book an appointment when I need to. Even when I leave a voicemail they never return my calls. Then I walk in the store and they are sitting there doing nothing. I complained several times about not being able to reach them and they just say they don’t know why. How does the website shows they are open and you call at 11am and the message over the phone says they are currently closed. It’s like they don’t even care or show any empathy at all towards this. Then when you go to the store to book the appointment you have to wait a least a month before you get one. Something needs to be done about this.

Some of the employees are nice here, thats about it. All the reviews on here are true. Never answer the phone. Never can get an appointment when you need to. I went to the doctor today and she didn't even speak to me. She looked at my dog and told the nurse she didn't feel like she needed to talk to me, but didn't update or follow up on my dog's treatments. I had plenty of questions for the doctor and she made herself unavailable when I had a scheduled appointment. I've never been to any doctors appointment where the doctor doesn't speak to the patient or patients parent. I believe the name is Dr Alvarez. Banfield continues to disappoint every visit. Originally when I first went to Banfield they neglected to find the cause of my dogs hair loss. They recommend me to a specialist, which took 3 months of waiting for the appointment, while in that time my dog became hairless. The specialist said if Banfield had taken a biopsy of the skin they would have been able to see the problem. Also the specialist wasn't covered under my insurance. I hope this helps everyone who reads it! I'm reading the responses from Banfield to the Google reviews here and they don't seem to care that these things are going on. I can go on your website and submit my review elsewhere, but this review is for people who are considering using these services and don't know what to expect. Im not complaining to management, im letting people know what my expirence has been. This is for the people and the pups (cats too).

I've been bringing my dog here since he was a puppy and it started off as a good experience. I don't know what happened with this facility but as of recently the service has been horrible. I had to call them everyday, several times a day for A WEEK straight just to get an appointment scheduled. When you finally get someone on the line, they are booked out for months. I had a dental cleaning scheduled for my dog back in March which THEY had to cancel and when I tried to reschedule a few days later, the next appointment they had was in July. How could you cancel my appointment and then push it back months later. I expressed my concern and the representative told me that she would speak to the vet and get back to me. NEVER HEARD FROM THEM. When I finally called back again to schedule the appointment (took me 1 week of calling to get someone on the line), the next appointment they had was for November. Will be finding a new vet for my dog, because this is too much of a hassle.

I have been going here for grooming and the vet for about 3 yrs, so far no complaints.
