“Serious art gallery and jewelry store by renowned gallerist Stella Flame. It is always worth a visit, everyone is very friendly and knowledgable. The gallery also exhibits latest paintings by artist Sandy Cohen. I especially love the 'Native New Yorker' painting and the hand designed jewelry pieces.”
“If you care about art and value, stop scrolling. J Mackey isn’t just a lovely space to wander into on a pretty East Hampton block—it’s one of the rare places where the owner and her team have an eye for spotting emerging artists before others catch on—and also celebrating established artists.
Everything is beautifully curated with intention—beyond gorgeous pieces, Justine represents artists who are building credible secondary markets.
Add to that: zero pretension and informed conversation that meets you wherever you are in your art journey. Whether you’re seasoned or just starting your collection, this is a gallery that makes you feel welcome and leave inspired.”
“Always something interesting here like an art show or last year when I went they had handcrafted goods from Indonesia for sale. Go on a Sat morning when the farmer’s market is on!”
“Perfect selection of modern and contemporary paintings and photographs. Meticulously curated selection of American Abstract expressionism paintings including Willem de Kooning and John Little, Claude Lawrence and Rosalind Letcher.”

“Canio's Books is as if an angel picked up a bookstore in Greenwich Village in the 1950s and planted it, unchanged and unchanging, in Sag Harbor. Canio, Maryann and Kathryn make everyone feel at home among stacks and stacks of books. In a world gone made with electronics and instant gratification and being high-tech, Canio's is an oasis of hope and enlightenment. Viva Canio's.”
“I don't know what all the whining is about - when I go into a bookstore if the proprietor is friendly and chatty I can't look at books! The people who work here are nice enough and VERY knowledgeable if you have questions which is probably the most important thing, no? Well actually the most important thing is the books - and the books are AMAZING. Seem pretty fairly priced too, with some real gems. If you're in East Hampton and you like art and books this place is not to be missed.”
“Sara Nightingale is the most honest and kind gallery owner I've had the pleasure of meeting. She was patient with me and extremely knowledgable regarding the work in her gallery.Highly recommend if you're in the area. Thanks again Sara!”
“Finally, an edgy, truly contemporary art gallery in conservative Southampton! Owner Tripp is a young, charming, talented, creative, smart gallery owner/curator with impeccable taste. He consistently organizes interesting, fabulous art exhibitions. His openings and parties are fun. Kudos to him for his East Hampton accomplishment - another cool art gallery! Keep up the great work, Tripp!”
