Our boys, Diesel and Cooper, are energetic German Shorthairs, and Chris and Renee were incredible with them from the moment we arrived. They took the time to ask about each dog’s personality, likes, and quirks to make sure their stay would be as comfortable as possible. If you know GSPs, you know they’re Velcro dogs and a bit high-maintenance - so that attention to detail meant a lot.
Pickup was smooth, and I appreciated the updates about how the boys did during their stay. Both came home happy, well cared for, and major bonus - not smelling like a kennel.
A few helpful tips for fellow pet parents:
• Listen to Chris and Renee’s suggestions—they know their stuff.
• Bring an old dog bed you won’t mind losing, just in case your pup decides it’s a chew toy.
• Book early! This place fills up fast.
Diesel and Cooper will definitely be back! Highly recommend.”

“Pet Goods Poughkeepsie, the store is very clean and organized. The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. I love how in the fish section Bettas have their own 10gallon aquariums. At Petco in the fish section the Bettas are half dead and they are in tiny little cups. Also Pet Goods has a great selection of dry goods and equipment that’s all nicely organized. At Petco the racks and shelves are a mess and half empty.”

“Cleanest pet store I've ever been in. It smelled really good . I went in 2 days in a row and both times smelled like fresh bedding. Staff were nice and the lady giving us a bird and lizard asked us concerned questions which we liked bc they care about their animals. My sons parakeet came w his wings clipped and after 2 days he was walking around on my sons arm. Thanks, petco!”

“I called a hed of time to asked if they had sand blast media. They said they did. When I went to the store in they did not have any. I should have made them check before I went. That why for the 4 stars. They usually have everything. That was a 45 minute trip for nothing. You also have to know your prices before going in. I don't mind paying for quality.”
