...went to the petco location on orchard park rd and was appalled how the reptiles were housed.
one tarantula had crickets in their enclosure and they were clearly too large for the size of the tarantula.
the leopard geckos clearly needed a misting for humidity as one was shedding and had shed stuck to their head.
and for the final act there were two bearded dragons house together which first of all is a big no-no. one looks noticeably thinner and the one that was not thin was perched on top of the thin one. I have worked in pet stores before and this is not acceptable. there was also poop in the water of the bearded dragons enclosure. one of those bearded dragons is going to get hurt by the one who was taking dominance and is eating all the food.

I’m new to the area and decided to check out this Petco. The cashier that checked me out was so incredibly rude. I get people had bad days but this was uncalled for. I’ll be purchasing stuff for my cat elsewhere from now on.

so disappointed in the grooming of my Daisy. When I took her there in July, I was told that she had found found fleas. It was a bad rainy day and on the way home whatever they put on her very pungent smell and her coat was still damp because of the bad weather. I didn’t go back and didn’t make much of it at the time I recently took her there again in September. When I got home, Daisy was scratching and scratching. Didn’t think much of it because usually after a grooming she’s uncomfortable however, the next night she kept me up scratching and caring on I checked her. She was covered with fleas. Don’t understand if they bathing her correctly and seeing fleas , they didn’t let me know and give her a flea bath. She wears a collar that I bought from Petco and was told that it was still good until October so I put a topical on her. Plus, I have a spray for fleas and I sprayed her down with it , and every time she goes to the groomers, I wash all her covers on the chairs and a white blanket that she sleeps on in my bed. Never seen any signs of fleas now my house seems to be infested with fleas and my poor dog is suffering .up till now I’ve been very satisfied with the Service. i’d like to know why Layla didn’t let me know what was going on. when I picked her up in July, she did say she Found a flea I assumed that she dealt with it properly this last trimming she didn’t say anything about fleas to me so I assume the problem was solved. Would like some to explain to me why after all this time of coming there. You didn’t address this problem with me.

They had exactly what I needed. It was expensive, but necessary. Kitten formula, and a bottle for a tiny kitten.

The workers who are there are still friendly and helpful but definitely understaffed. Last time I was there it was an inventory that seemed to be there since the day before. They also were short of people so the registered person had to run and help somebody once in awhile before they could even check us out. Kind of for a strategy. But if you're under staffed, what are you going to do?
I really wish corporations would learn to pay the workers money to keep them.

The groomers are normally very nice and good at their job. The root problem is that customers are unable to schedule ONLY a nail trim on-line so customer needs to call the location to set up an appt. I believe this is where the errors occur. The groomers are always busy and customer needs to leave a message for a call back. An associate calls back and customer sets up appt. Clunky system and twice now, I’ve shown up and been told my dog is not in the system. I’m not entirely sure how I can receive a confirmation text confirming the appt if my dog isn’t in the system?? Went out to the store to grab some other items I needed and paid at the register. I went back in the grooming section as a last ditch effort to see if they could do my dogs nail trim sooner than the 20-30 min wait they originally quoted me because I needed to be back to work. When I walked back in the grooming section, the ladies were diligently grooming other dogs and complaining about ME. Caught them complaining about a customer who happened to be me. I hadn’t even said anything yet. Not sure if they thought I was lying about the appt or what?? That’s when I produced the confirmation text and demanded to know how my dog wasn’t in the system when I received several confirmation texts about this appt. At that time another associate came out front and proceeded to lecture me on how to talk to people. Mind you, there were no profanities or name calling or anything of that nature, was frustrated for sure. I was just looking for an answer since this is twice this has happened and I used PTO from my job today for an extra long lunch hour to make time for this appt.In the end they made it right did the nail trim quickly so I could be on my way. Root cause analysis is just let the customer book a nail trim online. Quit trying to upsell spa and bath packages. When associates have to manually make an appt, seems like things go haywire. Appointment program glitch? I’m not sure. At any rate, finding another groomer, which is too bad because this location is convenient for me and the groomers are legitimately good at their jobs as far as the grooming goes. Not so good for the grooming associates either because I’m a GREAT tipper

Both of the employees I interacted with were just awesome! I couldn't find what I came for so I asked about it. She knew exactly what I was talking about and she went in the back and brought out a whole case!
Checkout was a breeze and the cashier was extremely pleasant - sort of a rare case these days!
Thanks for the great service! All 3 of our dogs were thrilled with the treats, too!

This is where I go to get hay, treats and Pellets for my 2 boy guinea pig babies. They also love the hideouts! They are so picky they only like Oxbow brand lol
