“I've been hitting this gold mine for 20 years now and have found some outrageous, high quality, in excellent condition items here.
Clothes are well displayed and if you search you can unearth some well maintained, high end pieces. I've got two dozen+ pairs of hard to find, expensive designer jeans found only in boutiques and over 60 new Under Armour athletic wear pieces... Shirts, pants and shorts as well as four racks of quality designer pants and dress shirts.
As for my lifelong gold mine find? I discovered a 1934 Art Deco Dining table in immaculate condition priced at .. $40. that was recently appraised for over $20k!! It is made of six species of rare wood with the original finish intact.
My living room is full of unique antique furniture that I have refinished myself never paying more than $40 for a single piece and all from AmVets. One such antique Oak dining buffet from 1860 was just $10. and it was in immaculate condition with the original finish as well!!!
Between this location and the one in Elmwood, I've racked up some spectacular deals for literally pennies on the dollar. Living beautifully and looking sharp all of the time for about one tenth of their retail prices.”

“This place has a lot to look at. I didn't find anything for me and my son, but would recommend to others. Just cuz I didn't find something, doesn't mean you won't.”

“The Ladies of Charity store is staffed by a wonderful group of women. Always very pleasant and helpful. The store is compact, well lit and has children's, womens and men's clothing. There is a small amount of jewelry, some electronics, games, art work. Knick knacks , luggage, back packs, and toys as well. Some footwear is available as well as some housewares. Be assured, there are treasures to be found on their racks and shelves. The prices are very easy on the wallet everyday. But they do have specials as well as a monthly raffle. ( Of which I have been a winner. ) They overall experience of this shop is very pleasant. Store is open Monday thru Friday hours are 10:00 a.m. til 2:00 p.m. (contrary to what is stated elsewhere.)”

“Been going here since I was little, my uncle and dad used to work here back in the day driving the trucks. Always find something good, my sisters are having their first babies and found a lot of convenient stuff. Hope they don’t close this one like all the other ones closes. Would be sad!”

“This is my favorite goodwill for kids clothes! They always have a great selection. I’ve also never met a bad employee here. They are all beyond kind! Especially Annette (I think that was her name!)”

“This place is where all of the items that don't get sold from local goodwill stores go to be sold by the pound. They have aisles lined with bins that are switched/refilled every round. First you get in line along with the other customers, they let you all go at once to rummage through everything for 45 minutes, at the end of that time you can either cash out or get back in line where you'll wait for 15 minutes while they refill/switch out the bins then you can go rummage again. It's so much fun digging for treasures. Bring a drink because you'll get thirsty and a cutting utensil because sometimes the electronics cords are seriously tangled and it can take forever to get the item that you want free (they don't seem to mind if you cut other cords to free your item)”

“This is as close as you'll find to a permanent garage sale. It looks like a tornado hit the place and they gave up trying to organize it. But if you're willing to dig, you can find some amazing things at amazing prices. I will definitely be back!”

“Large selection with Great prices. Clothing Items were very clean and of nice quality. Many name brand clothing, some new with tags. Lots of glassware. Employees were very friendly. Sometimes charity shops tend to smell dirty, but this place did not. I am glad made the short trip from downtown to find some nice treasures. If I'm ever back in Buffalo again, I will be sure to revisit for more treasures.

The outside of the building is not very appealing, but don't let that stop you from going in. Treasures await inside. And the money is for a good cause... So it's a win win!”

“Whenever I go second hand store shopping for the day, I make sure this store is on my list. I very rarely leave the store empty handed. The cashiers are always so kind. The prices are more than fair/reasonable. They have a huge variety of men's and women's clothing along with atleast two racks of swimsuits. This store is truly a hidden gem with treasures tucked in the corners.

Tip: There is a powerstrip so that you are able to check appliances before purchasing. It is the back left wall. You will see it, it's hard to miss.”

“I treasure the William Street Goodwill.....the "mother ship" of the WNY Goodwill fleet of stores.I find the William Street store to be spotlessly clean and well organized with a varied selection of new and vintage items. I always find very unusual ( and frequently high-end) items that are always in perfect condition and working order. The staff is helpful and always friendly and the prices are always fair. This is probanly the smallest of the WNY Goodwill stores, but it strikes me as being a truely special "jewel", being in perfect order and with consistent quality merchandise. I compliment the stores management in their ability to maintain high standards of merchandise and an excellent staff.”

“I would like to express my heart felt gratitude to the people who work at the goodwill donation center on union rd for finding and ensuring the return of a family heirloom ( money ) to me and my family. It makes me feel better that there's very honest people who truly care about ensuring that items weren't intended to be donated to get back to the rightful owners. Thank You from the bottom of my heart”

“This is one of the best thrift stores in WNY, if not America. Caroline, Darlene and the crew do a great job keeping the store organized and clean. We find tons of unique vintage and new items here every time we stop in.”

“The nicest Goodwill of WNY ( and I’ve shopped at ALL of them!) The workers were so pleasant and helpful. It’s like shopping with friends. The other locations should be trained here, they are doing it right?”

“Lots of wonderful items. Bins are full of stuff, you go through and pick what you want. Cost is per pound. Great idea for getting great bargains, and helping support Goodwill. Staff was very friendly and helpful!”

“Always a nice thrift store since it's been here. The quality usually is nicer than some other chain thrift stores in the area. The employees do a pretty good job putting out good items not too much trash being resold. One of the neatest goodwill stores I've been to. You won't always find something every time you go but that's the thrill of thrifting finding that diamond in the rough. I'm big on reusing and recycling so I constantly donate and look for useful things for myself. This is a go to store for me. Helping me save money on nice things around the house and nice clothes for work and church. Also keep things out the landfill. 4 stars. Store is a little small, and pricing can be inconsistent, some things are a super bargain, somethings not so much. But overall worth a visit.”

“I especially like shopping on Tuesday to get the senior citizen discount. There isn't much I need, but I usually find something I can't live without. I am trying to make a point to declutter my home with a weekly trip of donations drop off to the store.”
