“The staff at Nekos were extra kind to me, when I was homeless and in and out of rehabs they were always patient and would ask how I'm doing, made me feel like they really cared. I moved out of Kingston but still go here when I need meds. Now I'm healthy homed and sober for years but I'll never forget that they made me feel like a person. Thank you.”

“Everyone at the Village Apothecary is amazing. Dr. Neal Smoller cares deeply about his community - his communication is direct and clear, he knows his stuff, and he truly cares about the wellbeing of his customers. The same goes for all of his dedicated staff, especially Aiyanna and Nicole.
Story time: When I moved back to Kingston, I wanted to support a small local pharmacy instead of a chain. Unfortunately, the only community pharmacy in Kingston failed to fill my prescription for three days (while I was out of medication), or even to call me or tell me what the problem was after I checked with them several times. When I called the Apothecary, Aiyanna and Nicole went above and beyond. They coordinated with me to fill the scrip within three hours, and even took the time to give me advice and offered to make a call the next day to help me get a refund from my insurance, even though they were right about to close shop.
I’m so glad I decided to support this brilliant gem of a small business instead of asking for my scrip to be sent to Walgreens or CVS (just a few minutes from me) - It’s worth the 20-minute drive to come to a place with:
- patient, compassionate, and professional employees
- quality personalized customer service (thank you Aiyanna!)
- uniquely tailored free vitamin consultation (thank you Nicole!)
- a pharmacist who advocates fiercely for his community (thank you Dr. Neal!).
- vitamins and supplements that are carefully curated and crafted (their brand, Woodstock Vitamins is the one I trust the most not to have traces of heavy metals, etc - they’ve helped me feel so much better, and I’ve been less prone to getting sick since I started taking them regularly)
- more sustainable prescription packaging (by using a very sturdy cardboard for the base, they use less plastic for the child-proof tops- see photo). Nowhere else in the Hudson Valley have I seen this eco-wizardry! Hopefully soon it will be popular everywhere, but in the meantime they’re ahead of the curve.
Very few other pharmacies in the area support their community so well. Avoid shenanigans, go to the Apothecary!”
