About Foundation Studios

Foundation Studios is a community art center in Asheville's River Arts District, curated by Modern Wave Art Gallery. This more recently established space houses 20 different art studios for various artists and two art galleries, making it a unique stop. It is a great space filled with unique art of every medium from over 80 artists in many different styles. The art is organized nicely and is pretty varied in price, from prints around $10 to pricier artwork in the hundreds. The beautiful and scenic location is tucked away in the district. It is a delightful art gallery with a community feel, where visitors can see spaces where artists work and their finished products for sale. The space is packed with art but has plenty of room to sit with friends at the beer/wine bar. It is a great space to wander through without becoming overwhelmed. The staff is friendly, super friendly, and helpful, contributing to an incredible vibe. They host different art shows almost every month. It is a great place to hang out, take a class, and meet others in the arts community, and is a must-stop for any locals or visitors alike.
