These folks are the best.Steven was professional, helpful and patient with our daughter as she picked her first snowboard boots to purchase.Great selection, no pressure and easy parking.Highly recommend Extreme ski shop as we visited others in Boone who offered little help, little selection, one place even seemed bothered we stopped in.Extreme Snowboard and Ski is the best.

Very helpful staff! Decent selection and well stocked with rental equipment. Everyone was happy and ready to help me. Brought my board in after my binding broke on the slopes. They searched high and low for the bolt and nut I neeeded. Unfortunately they did not have one but they were able to get me pointed in the right direction for where I could get it fixed. They saved me a ton of money instead of pressuring me to buy new bindings. Highly recommend this store. Thank you ?

First time skiers, we went in not knowing anything about equipment. We were fitted, explained the insurance policy, and sent on our way. The first day one of the skis broke. When returning the skis, we pointed out the break in the ski and were told it was fixable. Two men in the shop looked at it and both said it was fine and they could repair. The next day, I was charged $400 on my debit card. When I called questioning the charge, the guy made out like we tried to hide the break, and claimed the ski was not fixable! This is some shady business. Beware of giving them your card info and watch for unauthorized charges!!

Ive brought friends to this place for many years to rent. I like the computer registration and they seem less busy than other rental places. However…..brought a friend yesterday for her first time snowboarding. Shes 5’6 and weighs 158lbs. She borrowed a friends size 8 boa boots. She rented beginner set up, not discount for not remting boots and thats ok. The issue came in when we got to Beech and i noticed how short her board was compared to mine. Thats when i notice they gave her a 135??? Thats a childs size. Im 5” and ride a 142. We had to use it since we drove 20min up to Beech. She took a lesson and i helped her and she struggled. Hard to say whether a longer board wouldve made a difference since she was given a board so small with no other option. When we returned it I mentioned this to the manager on duty who got bery defensive. He said it was the right size. Ive been snowbosrding 25 yrs and NO its not the right size for her. There isnt s company that makes an adult board smaller tban 139-140. And they are very much based on height and weight. Minimum she shouldve been given a voucher for a free rental next time. I cant recommend a place that doesnt make good on their mistake and argue it.

We came to pick up our skis the night before and the older man working there was very rude and not welcoming, almost to the point where I would have gone somewhere else if I had not made the reservation already. However, the younger guys at the shop were helpful and nice and kindly got us the equipment. Return was quick and easy with another young man. Didn’t have any issues with our equipment all week.

My family and I came to the Sugar Mountain area on vacation to ski/snowboard. My kids have never been on the snow. The staff, especially Max,were extremely helpful and provided some insight into skiing Sugar Mountain and Beech Mountain. Plenty of people there to help and tons of inventory. Plus they have a retail section for anything you need which they don’t rent. I felt the prices were fair. I will be returning next year when we come back.

This place is the worst. Old, outdated, shady business practices with terrible staff. Go check out some of the other great shops in the area. How this place stays in business while surrounded by actual shops with amazing staff is beyond belief.

Beware of the "reservation" system.I wanted to make gear rental as smooth as possible since I knew it would be a busy weekend. I chose this location because the web site offers a "reservation" system. The link on the site says "Reserve Your Rentals Today" and at completion I received an email that said "Booking Confirmation". When I showed up to pick up the gear I discovered this is not a reservation or booking system at all. They were already out of the gear we had "reserved". The "booking" is just a printout of your selections, but they aren't holding anything for you. This was pretty disappointing.

Great place to rent gear, all the reviews about the young kids being very helpful was spot on. Very friendly, not pushy, ask great questions to ensure we had everything we needed to be safe, and didn't try to sell us all the expensive new gear.

Best rental location at Sugar and below Beech. Prices are solid, and they have a military discount in case that applies.

I would give them zero stars if that was an option. Booked in advance but still had to wait in line for over two hours only to tell us when we got to the front of the line that they were out the snowboards. No apology, no offer to try to make things right whatsoever. This business is an absolute joke. Buy a board to avoid renting altogether or go somewhere else to rent your ski equipment. Stay away from this disaster.
