A great establishment and in my opinion it is a must-stop while at Beech Mountain. I relied on Fred’s for their fresh cooked food, snowboarding gear, groceries, and gifts! They also lent me a tool to help me out when I had a lock that broke. Great staff, delicious food with lots of options, and a lot to look at and do! The Philly cheesesteak was amazing and a great price. Always left the store feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.

It actually pained me to leave this review. Since 2016 our first time at Beech, Fred’s has been one of my favorite parts. This time beginning of February is when we were in there and I was so underwhelmed. The store was as normal but the staff other than the very nice 2 young ladies there were rude and louddddddd! The older man at the register barely spoke a word to us only grunting or asking if he can bag it one bag, and the guy about my age maybe 40ish was so loud and obnoxious the whole freaking time… all 3 times we ended up in the store for a last minute item or when we were headed back home, both guys, rude as heck! After reading the reviews we have figured there had to be a change in ownership or something over the last 2 years. We didn’t make it up the last 2 years staying near by but not able toMake it up because of the ski traffic.. so that would make sense. Anyone else have this issue. I miss the Nice sweet older lady that worked in there. :( keep the young ladies that work there because they were the only nice thing about it.

This place is amazing!!! If they don’t have it, you will not find it! Fred’s is PACKED, with anything and everything. It’s a trip back to the olden days when mercantile stores were more prominent… a must visit!!!

One of the two people we met in this town who were really friendly and helpful. We came for breakfast but like a lot of restaurants in the area, they are only open certain days.They have a lot to offer in that little store

Good selection, and a cute store, but we went twice on our trip and the guys that work in there were condescending jerks both times. We gave them zero reason to act the way they did.

Great store for all your grocery needs. There is a nice selection of clothing, and a fantastic deli. They also offer ski rentals.

Incredibly rude staff and overpriced. You really get the feeling that they don't want you in there at all. Unfortunately for the consumers/visitors to the area, this place has the monopoly on any supplies or last minute goods you might need. Please do yourself a favor and hit up one of the grocery stores or Walmarts in one of the nearby towns..this place is not deserving of your money. Fred should be ashamed really, that his wonderful idea of a business is being destroyed by his staff and pricing.
