Fred's General Mercantile is a must-stop establishment on Beech Mountain, packed with anything and everything. It is a great store for all grocery needs, with a fantastic deli offering fresh cooked food, lots of options, and amazing food like the Philly cheesesteak. They provide good equipment and ski rentals, and have a nice selection of clothing and gifts. The staff is great, friendly, and helpful. It is a wonderful store and a trip back to the olden days, where you always leave feeling very satisfied and well taken care of.
We came here for breakfast and lunch everyday of our vacation delicious food. Harry’s the best chef. The staff is awesome and friendly and we love Fred too

I LOVE Fred’s. We come up here every year and the staff is so friendly. It’s so pleasant every time we come. Best breakfast on Beech Mountain and the top of this mountain wouldn’t be the same without it.

Thank you Fred’s for such an amazing Mother’s Day brunch!!!! Not a detail was overlooked. Everyone was so happy and friendly!! Bows on our flowers was such a beautiful added touch!! If I could leave a 10 I would!!! Thank you again.
