“It's always a challenge playing a course for the first time. Gaston Cc is an old school course - meaning traditional and well designed. It is well maintained with a professional courteous staff. I sincerely appreciate the communication I received in my visit to this "Private Club." However, I did not realize that I was paired with Royalty and the founders of the club until afterwards. Samantha, their membership director made me aware of my partner's status. When asking the line of a blind tee shot, Mr. Gray instructed me to (go ahead) and hit the shot. I replied, I can do that, and hit the shot on the perfect line. The Gray brothers (founders of Gaston Cc) are great putters. They had a fifty plus years advantage of experience on me...Lol. I had been putting on aerated slow greens in Roanoke, Va for two months, so it was different to say the least. The highlight was a hole in one on #11. I enjoyed his company talking about horses, his swing plan, wild hogs and the two beers he bought. Sorry, I can't recall his name at the moment. Highly recommend Gaston Cc! The practice area, dining area and atmosphere is great. I wish I could afford it. Don Portis”

“We arrived on a Thursday evening and the place was very quiet. The check-in lobby was clean and the gentleman at the counter was polite and courteous. The process was quick and easy we did have to pay a $100.00 incidentals but we got that returned a couple days after check-out. Our room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The views were nothing special but we don't mind not having a view as we got the room to sleep and that was about it. The bathroom was the cleanest I've seen in the last year staying at hotels and we will definitely be back if we ever go that way again. The breakfast selection was basic like cereal and muffins but free with the stay. I didn't really look as we went to Starbucks across the road. Great place to stay!Rooms: Very clean!”

“It’s definitely not a luxury hotel, but it was clean and functional. Close drive to downtown, Carowinds, and CLT. However, I was most impressed by the great service. The woman who checked us in on the night of the 15th was energetic and welcoming, and the man managing the breakfast the next morning was equally great- clearing plates quickly, chatting with guests, and making sure everyone’s needs were met. Unfortunately, parking is $11/night.Nearby activities: Carowinds”
“Spent a weekend here and it was lovely. Room was super quaint and clean. The beach is great to lounge or swim at, and we also spent some time enjoying the vista from the chairs on the hill. We loved chatting with Colleen, a local and regular who gave great dinner recommendations! There’s a candy truck on premises that isn’t open for business yet, but I’m sure once it is it will be a delight!”

Walkability: I do not walk and there was nowhere to go with in reasonable distance
