I would rate less than 1 star if optional. PATHETIC!!! Do these people even know the definition of customer service? Doubtful. Why is this branch even open????

EDIT: They just replied here to make it seem as though they called and addressed our complaints. Let me clarify. NOBODY has called us and we haven't spoken to anybody at this bank since this incident occurred. So they are how publicly lying on this review to save face. ?Terrible customer service at the Bermuda Run / Advance branch. We were told by one representative (we THINK the branch manager) that we could deposit a rather sizable third-party check. When we went back later that same day with the check, a different person was very combative about it and finally (very reluctantly) agreed to do what we were told we could do, with the caveat that she would place a "7-day hold" on the check. The words "7-day hold" were used multiple times during our exchange and, during that conversation, which took place on July 11, I specifically asked if that meant that the funds would be released on July 18 and was told yes. Based on this information, we made plans to pay for a very expensive and medically necessary surgery. It is now July 19 (8 days later) and the funds have not yet released. When we called to inquire about this, they advised that the funds would, in fact, be released tomorrow, July 2 and, if we needed them sooner, would need to go into the local branch and talk to the manager. So, we went back and the manager suddenly "clarified" that it is 7 BUSINESS days, which is NOT what we were initially told. We were specifically told 7 DAYS AND THAT THE FUNDS WOULD BE RELEASED ON JULY 18. The "manager" then went and ASKED FOR PERMISSION TO RLEASE FUNDS FROM THE **EMPLOYEE** THAT PLACED THE HOLD. He's the MANAGER and he needs permission from his subordinate?Anyway, SHE gave her MANAGER "permission" to release an arbitrary amount of $1,200, knowing full-well that this was several thousand dollars less than the surgery we have scheduled and neither of them seem to care ONE BIT that we are now in a financially difficult position because of their terrible ability to communicate expectations and downright pettiness.AND THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO SUGGEST THAT THE THIRD PARTY SIMPLY OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH THEM TO AVOID FUTURE ISSUES!First of all, this was a one time need and, had the need ever arisen again, knowing what they would knowingly, intentionally put someone through, we WOULD NOT go to them again. Had we known this would be the treatment we would received, we would have found ANY other solution. Second of all, you just gave us THE WORST customer service experience ever...and you think we'd actually want to sign up for more treatment like this by opening another account? No. We will be CLOSING the account that currently exists in the very near future.Jokes. You guys are JOKES.

Joe Kent, the manager, is the most incompetent banker I have ever encountered. His team lied to me about a mortgage for 3 months. When I confronted him about it, he said that he couldn’t honor the deal because his loan officer had made an “honest mistake”. The problem with that is that Joe and an underwriter had personally looked at the loan and both said it was ok. When I asked what we should do, his response was “I don’t know, maybe you should sell your wife’s car” and then laughed like it was a joke. This is literally just scratching the surface of my negative experiences with him. I just don’t have the time to type it all. He is uninformed and incapable, is that a combo you want handling your money? Do business with this clown at your own peril.

I came through the drive through in April to deposit my fiance stimulus check and one of your tellers took it on herself to deactivate my fiance bank card. My fiance works out townto provide for his family and couldn't get to the bank his self and your teller cut the card off without being asked causing our bills to get behind. We're definitely looking for another credit union for him.
