“Service was remarkably good. She was cheerful,helpful,caring and very kind. She not only made the atmosphere cheerful by the jokes she made,she made sure we got a quality product due too the product we chose looked damaged. She then went to the shelving that stored the product and picked up all the bad one's and discarded them for there unfit quality to customers. In summary she made us laugh,make sure we got quality product,disposed of bad product and generally got us in a good mood. This is quite impressive to be so nice and cheerfull not even an hour into her shift. I believe she should get some sort of raise or a promotion. This happened on Monday july 21st at 8:50. Very good experience.”

“Big Lots will always be special. It used to be TG&Y. Not to mention, I helped set up this store over 30 years ago when I was pregnant with my first.child. Even with the change, I found where what I was looking for would be, but of course, they didn't have it ,just my luck. At check out, the line was long, and the poor cashier moved slower than my 84 year old mother. That's the reason for the four star rating. Other than that, go to Big Lots and shop 'till you drop.”

“So far every employee that I've dealt with has been tactful. None were tripping over themselves to try to be the most helpful or efficient either. But for what DG Hays their employees is absurd. Even if you are a manager., Your pay is insulting. Taking that into consideration I would have to say overall surprisingly I would give it a little better-than-average”

“My friend and I came in this evening to grab a few skincare items…you know, the ush! ? We had a great time, the selection was great, the store was clean and very well organized. The best part of our visit, though, was during checkout. A gentleman named Johnny checked us out and also helped me with some balloon choices and was all around just extremely funny, hospitable, kind and incredibly friendly. He was an absolute joy to be around and seems as though he truly loves his job! I’ve never had a bad experience here and look forward to seeing you all again soon! “I have always enjoyed shopping in this store but had a very RUDE CASHIER ruin it for me ! Made a disgusting remark to me that I did not like ! This woman should learn to do her job and keep her mouth shut ! I called their head office and reported it and nothing was done about it . Guess I will have to take my business elsewhere. up date : The rude cashier has been gone for a good while and the new people they have in there now are FANTASTIC! Place looks neater . They go out of their way to be kind to you . they were very helpful to me back around Easter when I was buying some flowers to decorate graves . The manager was very helpful ! Thanks to the new employees in there !”

“The store manager Carrie is so sweet and nice and very helpful. I only shop at this family dollar because its very clean and all the staff are so nice they always greet you has soon has you walk in. If i could give them 10 stars I would. Carrie is so nice she will even ask you how are you and your family doing. She is very caring like that she even help me find medicine in the story for my son stomach he even said she's the best cause the medicine she told me to get help him. I highly recommend this store.”

“I always have a pleasant experience at this location! Yes, there isn’t usually enough staff to accommodate peak times but that’s not the fault of the employees themselves. DG is known for running on a skeleton crew in order to not pay anymore money than they see necessary. I think people need to remind themselves of that and take their complaints to the higher-ups rather than the employee(s) that are working without breaks (just my two pennies).

I did want to add that Dollar General DOES NOT OFFER WESTERN UNION SERVICES ANYMORE. It still shows up on Google as being a Western Union site but, alas, that is no longer the case.

I also called the Hamptonville location and they don’t have Western Union, either. I’m going to assume that this rings true for ALL Dollar General stores now.”
