“I was calling around to see who could get our cat in to be neutered. Luckily when I called them they had a next day appointment due to a cancellation. So I was very excited about that, I took Klondike in the next day to be neutered and i was told surgery went great. His incision looks very good and he seems to be doing great. They all were very kind, caring, and friendly at the clinic. I am glad I brought him in they are very affordable, and they do really great work. If you have any questions or concerns they are very helpful & offer to see your pet to check them out. Khlondike is a flat face persian so I was a bit nervous when he went in for surgery, bc they are sometimes prone to higher risk during surgery. They updated me after surgery was done and told me that it went great, so i was extremely relieved. I will definitely bring my pets in anytime I need to get one of them spayed or neutered in the future. I highly recommend them.”
“We have gone to lots of vets over the years. At one point we had four cats and three dogs! I’m quite picky. I look for someone who has some common sense and looks to do the most logical thing rather than demanding a bunch of lab work and X-rays before even examining. We recently began using Lake Brandt and Dr. Lofgren and I have nothing but good things to say. We have a 14 year old dog with LOTS of issues so we are at the vet a lot. Dr. Lofgren will call me back if I have more questions, he will make sure we have care even if they don’t have any open appointments. I highly recommend them.”

“My cat became extremely ill seemingly out of nowhere. Gate City was able to get me in the Tuesday after New Years day and get him on antibiotics and other necessary medication. I've been in a tight spot financially and they helped me find resources to help. They were extremely kind and helpful and truly wanted to help me get my baby feeling better. Its been almost 2 weeks and although he is not back to normal he's gotten so much better. I couldn't thank Gate City and their staff enough for their care and support! Miss Heather who was my cats doctor was truly amazing!!”
“I've been bringing my dogs here a few years and always appreciated the personal attention everyone gives. After being at a previous vet's office that felt like a cold clinic, it's been nice to feel like this staff actually cares.Our oldest girl, a mini dachshund, had some skin issues that couldn't get resolved. I'd spent a lot of money and time on visits, shots and meds at the previous vet. One of the doctors here got her skin in better shape with the recommendation of regular bathing in medicated shampoo and cleaning skin folds with medicated pads. It really made her quality of life better and I was able to stop the allergy meds!Unfortunately, she recently became ill and it was time for a difficult decision. I'm grateful for Dr. Poore and Andrew's kindness, respect and compassionate care of me and our girl when it was time to say goodbye.”

“Nice small veterinary practice. They do up to 20 walk-ins in the morning and appointments in the afternoon. Getting a walk-in visit involves checking in at 8:00am and they will assign a slot to return for your visit. Appointments are generally booked 2 weeks out.”

Both Dr.Saffold and Dr.Beachy are extremely talented and in my opinion the best in the state. They treat each fur baby as if it were their own cat. “We just left north elm animal veterinary. They are great!!! Our veterinarian was out today and we had to find somewhere else to take our dog. She had been sick for 2 days and we were starting to become concerned. I called and they fit us in right away. I had had met one of the owners at Orangetheory and she seemed really nice. We saw Dr. Sims and she is most definitely an animal person. Tipsy loved her immediately. Which in my book is always a good sign. Dr. Sims was not in a rush and took her time examining Tipsy. We will most definitely be bringing out other 3 dogs here in the future. Nothing big was wrong with Tipsy. Just a bacteria infection. A few days of meds and she will be good as new.”

“This is long winded, beware-though I hope you'll find it justified. I want to thank Dr. Shinew and staff for saving my little trouble maker's life! His name is Safari. He and his siblings were rescued from the side of an extremely busy highway in Virginia where they had been dumped by the worst of our own species. Their mother was killed but the kittens survived. My husband and I only wanted one kitty since we had already rescued three ferrets and believe me when I say they are a handful! But the individual who found them stranded told me that our little fella was incredibly attached to one of his sisters, and I just didn't have the heart to separate them. Safari is such a fun cat, he walks on a leash and gets into everything-he even plays fetch! Fast forward about three years. I came back to Reidsville in order to help my father who had open heart surgery. It turned out that his health wasn't what anybody expected, and our dad died on October 24th, 2019. I stayed in Reidsville because our grandma (his mom) broke her hip the next day when a rack fell on her at Belk's while she was buying an outfit for the funeral, so I stayed in Reidsville to assist her post emergency surgery. Fast forward to Christmas Eve. Safari had a string coming out of his rear end and when I pulled, it barely budged (please don't do what I did) so I pulled harder. I didn't realize he had swallowed a needle and thread in my absence-cats can just about get into anything because where he found it was a table that had a shelving unit-so he had to get his paw in between the two spaces and he managed to do so. When we brought him in, and found out what actually happened, the synopsis/diagnosis was grim. There was concern that it punctured his liver. Dr. Shinew saved my baby!!!!! I can't thank her enough. Safari is still getting into everything, but I have the opportunity to love him and try to keep him away from danger to live another day because of her. Dr. Shinew, we are so grateful! You truly are making a positive impact in this world for species that deserve the best treatment.”

“I’ve only had one visit here so far. The staff is very helpful and patient with the animals, however, it seemed quite expensive and with no actual diagnosis for the reason I brought him in… instead they ran unrelated (but perhaps still needed at his age??) tests and had me make another appointment. It kind of feels like vets are upselling certain brands of medications lately; which makes me trust the medication and the vet less.”
