“The Butchers Market delivers outstanding meat quality - their steaks and marinades are truly superb, representing some of the finest cuts you’ll find locally. The difference in taste and texture is immediately noticeable.
However, the pricing has escalated beyond reasonable market rates. At $20.99/lb for steak (up from $18.49/lb last year) and $8.99/lb for chicken, these prices significantly exceed even premium alternatives. For context, Costco’s prime filet runs around $15/lb at the Apex location.
While I appreciate premium quality commands premium pricing, the current rates feel disconnected. The product quality remains excellent - it’s the value prop that’s become challenging to justify.
Will continue to patronize - but it’ll be less frequent, sadly, as a result of the pricing.”
“I came here a couple days ago and bought a picanha cut steak. I was very excited to try this place out and when we entered we were immediately met with amazing, welcoming customer service. We asked the man behind the counter for the smallest weight they had and it looked like he thoroughly inspected it before handing it over. I immediately prepared the steak when I got home as I wanted to cook it the next day. I noticed the color was off. It was dark red and a hint of gray. I smelt it and it did smell sour/spoiled. The steak was already vacuum sealed when handed to us so I didn't think much of the color as I assumed it was the tint of the plastic. I'm quite upset as this was a $50+ steak. We ended up having to throw away half of it and kept the parts that looked/smelled okay. For a place that specializes in meats, I'd hope they not only have the best cuts but fresh cuts.
Update: I met and spoke with Ralph, the owner. He took the time to apologize and made up for the steak by replacing it. I am still amazed by the personable customer service and how they hold themselves accountable. This place has my respect and I will definitely be coming back. Thank you, Ralph!”
