The Hampton Inn Raleigh/Cary receives mixed reviews highlighting significant contrasts. The location is consistently praised as excellent and close to everything, including many activities, a park, a mall, and shopping within a short drive or walk. The staff is repeatedly described as outstanding, delightful, very friendly, super helpful, and great, often going above and despite other issues. The complimentary breakfast is noted as well-prepared, tasty, and with a great selection that changes daily, though some items are basic. However, the hotel is described as an older property showing considerable wear and tear. Common complaints include shabby and outdated rooms and decor, stained tubs, old elevators, musty hallway carpets needing replacement, and maintenance problems. Specific issues mentioned are broken ice machines, malfunctioning appliances like fridge doors and tub drains that sometimes go unfixed, a lack of on-site laundry, and a very small fitness center with non-working equipment. Cleanliness is generally found to be adequate or excellent in rooms, though deeper cleaning in bathrooms is sometimes noted as lacking. Overall, while the staff and location are major strengths, the physical condition of the hotel is considered below average for the brand and budget category, leading some guests to recommend other nearby options.
Not what I expected based on previous stays at other Hampton Inns.

I wanted to give a shoutout to Tasia/Tatia for going out of her way to offer timely and thoughtful help during and after check-in. The hotel room is outdated but kept clean. The bed is clean and comfortable. Walkable to the hospital emergency and birth center.

This property is in a good location however I do feel as if it is dated and not in line with what you'd expect from the Hampton Inn brand. It could use a remodel.
