Don't waste your time. It was locked when I got there and then some lady came and was unlocking it. The door clearly says walk-ins welcomed and said only when they are freed up. I told her they should mention that too on the door. Rude and waste of my time.

Every year it gets more & more expensive with unbelievably worse service. But they conveniently make it so you have to come in & have one of their agents file it for you if you want to do the Emerald Advance.. In previous years I just felt like hey I need to do the advance so it is what it is. I honestly really didn't mine. But then I kept getting agents who either weren't familiar with new tax codes or the computer updates or both. But this year, (I've been with them for about 25 years) this is how it played out.
First appointment: Called me to cancel while I was literally in the parking lot.
Second appointment:
*Agent* I don't know how to file your particular return so you will have to reschedule when a supervisor or more senior accountant is available.
*Me* My taxes have been literally exactly the same, filed identically verbatim, for at least the last 5 years. Just pull up my account & it'll show you what to do. It's so easy it takes less than 10 minutes year after year. If you don't know how to access my account on your computer, I can pull up my h&r app & show you exactly what to do step by step. I have at least the last 4 tax returns downloaded in a file because this keeps happening every single year & every single year it's more problematic than the last only to be filed exactly as the previous ones...
*Agent* I'mmm sorrrrrryyyyyyyyy. You come back next week. 😊
& The third appointment: Senior associate/ (supervisor?) Less than 10 minutes once I gave her my social & she pulled up my profile.. Filed identically aside from wages earned.. BUT!!!! This year, without getting extra protection or identity shield, just the flat rate plus the charge for having the fee taken out of the return & the fee for the advance, they charged me over $400. My return was barely 2,000... Which, it'd be whatever if that's what it is except nobody knows how to actually do a simple return to the point that I needed to reschedule 3 times even after I tried to hold their hand & walk them through it like I've had to for all of this decade & it was literally hitting the skip button with the acception of earned wages. Which was only one amount. It's not like I have multiple W2's...
Corporate greed is so far past being out of control. That ship has sailed. They have lost their ever lovin' minds!! (& It is damn near impossible to get me to have absolutely zero understanding & empathy. Even if it is for the individual for whatever the situation may be that contributed to a negative or horrible experience. But I got nothing. Zero zip zelch. Nada. 😐 )

H&R is very helpful in filing tax returns. Brian Pennington is a wonderful person and ready to answer any questions. Would love to work with him next year as well.

We have been going to do our tax prep with Yee Ping Yuen at H & R Block for the past 3 years. She is wonderful and has a lot of knowledge and patience. If you have a bit more complicated situation or a small business, she is the one you want to help you figure it out. Thanks for all your hard work.

My experience with H&R Block was great! I had the chance to work with Brian Pennington and could not be more grateful. Brian supported me over the course of 2 weeks, answered all my questions and went above and beyond to provide stellar service and tax advisory. My interactions with Brian reminded why we should all be doing good deeds and be nice to every person that crosses our path. Extremely disrespectful and unprofessional. It was nearly impossible to schedule an appointment. I received multiple confusing text message confirmations of different dates, and received a different answer every time when I inquired about the appointment time. The last person I spoke to was very rude and insisted that after "so many attempts" to reach me appointments would be "automatically canceled". Also due to the "complexity" of my taxes I would need to be scheduled with a representative who was "booked solid" for the next week. (I have only two simple forms of income.)

Horrible experience.I have been doing my taxes with H&R Block for so many years in NJ and all the people in the Hackensack Office were great but unfortunately Fonny Lo who is the person who did my taxes at this Cary Office was very rude, unprofessional and made me feel so uncomfortable. She didnt want to answer my questions, She will laugh on my face when I was asking something . She didn't want to understand that I was used to NJ taxes and this whole NC was new to me. I had to confront her 2 times because of her behavior and I even had to tell her that I respect her age but That I wont allow anybody to treat me like she was doing it.Also, I have a small business and when I asked her questions for deductions she will yelled and didn't want to answer or help me to obtain a good refund. I will never go back to this place.Horrible experiencia con Fonny Lo no me trato bien y parecia que no me queria ayudar en nada. Cada vez que yo le hacia una pregunta se burlaba y solo gritaba. No queria entender que era mi primera vez haciendo taxes en NC que los habia hecho siempre en NJ y como yo estoy acostumbrada a las leyes de alla le preguntaba y respondia super mal NI SIQUIERA quizo ayudarme a obtener un buen refund porque solo me daba peros y no queria ayudarme. No regresare mas a este lugar
