I'm in town before driving cross county and needed an oil change and a few others things checked such as brakes and suspension. My car has almost 160K miles and items will need to be replaced. I called and was able to get an appointment within the next week.
Bruce called and walked me thru what he found. Nothing was urgent and would need to be replaced in the near future. While discussing the issues he also included what passes for NC inspection which is helpful in making decisions.
A quote was provided for each additional item: rear brakes, new battery, and a belt. The work was completed the same day. When I went back, we talked that they blew out the filter as it wasn't to dirty and didn't charge for tire rotation since they were checking brakes. They could have told me they changed all filters (which I know was incorrect as I checked them back in May) but they didn't. Honest shop and provided me with information on warranty as I do not live in the area.
Top notch - will be back next time I'm in the area.”

“One of the most excellent car repair experiences I’ve ever had. Was in town car shopping when my breaks all but failed. Had an inspection a few months ago and was told I could get a bit more out of existing ones, but I had heard some scrubbing sounds. Over the course of a few bocks while driving through downtown, the scraping worsened at stoplights and began to sound and feel like my car was breaking down. Happened to be near Economy Auto Service, so literally rolled into their lot at 6pm on Thursday evening not knowing a thing about them. I barely got out of my car when approached by a smiling mechanic (seriously, he saw my troubled expression and had the most warm, empathetic greeting)that I later understood to be the owner. I explained my situation, being nearly an hour from home with my family. He did a quick look and showed and explained that my breaks were dangerously worn. Without having to ask, he offered to stay late and replace them after finishing a car he was working on. He sent another employee to get the parts and I drove away just before 9pm with my car driving so much better. All three workers were nice, polite, and professional. There was even a picnic table and cold drink machine for our use while we waited. Nice to find people and places like this still exist!”
