I went in on a Saturday and because my tires are small and not super common the blonde guy who helped me had to order them. I dropped my car off Monday morning and it was ready by 1pm or so. Joe called once and said I needed some new brake pads so I had them put those on, too. My little car needed some work and Black's really did a great job. Both the counter guys I spoke to were friendly and helpful without being pushy and I feel like I got a good deal for 4 tires, pads, oil change, inspection. I would definitely recommend Black's to anyone looking for quality service.”

The test drive was done without a sales person, we were allowed several keys at once so we could move from one vehicle to another without bothering anyone, and when we were ready to purchase we just went inside and asked where to sign. No one pressured us to buy now and we didn’t receive a million follow up calls after our first time visiting the lot and not making a purchase. The prices of vehicles were $2000-$3000 less than any other dealership within a 200 mile radius and Brian made us feel welcome and comfortable the entire process. “I took my car in the day after Christmas for a small vibration that was coming through the steering wheel. I assumed it was an imbalanced tire. The tech removed both front wheels and spun them on the machine. He said both balanced out and didn't need any weights added or removed. Whatever he did, the vibration is gone and they didn't even charge me. I will definitely return to Porter's Neck Tire & Auto when I'm due for tires or a repair. Thanks, guys.”

“I was not sure I needed a synthetic oil change. It was 6 months but only 5,000 miles. They checked the oil and all the other liquids and put air in the tires and showed us the oil was stillclean. Test drive results also so many miles he wants call backs also. On his works Now that is a quality and great values in a local small business.But fixing my magnum and finding the issues was fabulous. I didn't have a gas tank leaking a had a rotten rusty nut that was holding the fuel injector system on the gas tank that was leaking above the gas tank and when you over filled the tank system that's when you smelled gas fumes and it leaked -Another garage wouldnt fixed my 'brakes' that had a lifetime warranty on them fyi another local company in castle Hayne bc the man said I had a 'gas tank' leak and my car was going to blow up' Lol but we won't go there nor state his name or local company.Avery's is the best place in Wilmington to get work done . I contacted U-Haul Roadside Assistance who in turn contacted Colony Tire to respond and repair the damaged tire. It’s 9pm on a Wednesday and I’m stranded in Hampstead. Shout out to Mike L for responding in a quick and timely manner. Mike L arrived and repaired the issue. Mike L was polite and professional. “Even in the worst weeks of my life, God always manages to turn a negative situation into a miracle. I had an incident where my breaks went out and my rotors were too grooved beyond repair. It was estimated cost to fix of: $500 at an anonymous shop. Instead of accepting that offer, I took matters into my own hands and found quality products at an O'Reilly's Auto store for $150. I needed to replace the front two breaks/break pads, and front two rotors. After purchasing the materials, I seeked an auto shop that could install them. I shopped around at five different shops, and the most amazing miracle happened. I was told by a maintenance man at UNCW that this place was the best place to go. Being a UNCW employee, I was very appreciative. The guys at Hughes Brother's Tire & Auto were absolute blessings. An act of God. They gave me a very affordable quote (much lower than anywhere I have been) and provided the most absolute best customer service. So, instead of spending $500, I only spent a total of $250 (for absolutely everything). I am so gracious for God's amazing blessings and the guys at Hughes Brothers. This is an absolute miracle. “One of the most excellent car repair experiences I’ve ever had. Was in town car shopping when my breaks all but failed. Had an inspection a few months ago and was told I could get a bit more out of existing ones, but I had heard some scrubbing sounds. Over the course of a few bocks while driving through downtown, the scraping worsened at stoplights and began to sound and feel like my car was breaking down. Happened to be near Economy Auto Service, so literally rolled into their lot at 6pm on Thursday evening not knowing a thing about them. I barely got out of my car when approached by a smiling mechanic (seriously, he saw my troubled expression and had the most warm, empathetic greeting)that I later understood to be the owner. I explained my situation, being nearly an hour from home with my family. He did a quick look and showed and explained that my breaks were dangerously worn. Without having to ask, he offered to stay late and replace them after finishing a car he was working on. He sent another employee to get the parts and I drove away just before 9pm with my car driving so much better. All three workers were nice, polite, and professional. There was even a picnic table and cold drink machine for our use while we waited. Nice to find people and places like this still exist!”
