This review is exclusively regarding the location in Chapel Hill. I know evenings are busy, but sometimes circumstances make it so that curbside pickup is the only reasonable option. I don't expect to wait for over fifteen minutes, and then call and get no answer. When I went inside, the associate that helped me didn't apologize at all for the wait. I know sometimes waiting can't be helped. But I do expect for the store associate to at least act like they care. I'll be going to my usual Petco on Renaissance parkway from now on. At least they know how to treat customers with kindness and decency.

Decent for a chain store, but the employees are not experts in the field. Most are unable to answer mildly specific questions about pets and pet care. Great if you know exactly the product that you're looking for, not so great if you need any kind of advice.

I guess you can’t count on standard store hours?!?? Placed an online order earlier today and when I stopped by at 7:15 PM to pick it up, I found this on the door…🤷🏻♂️ not very helpful to know that they closed early only once you get there. No reason given for the early closure and all the other businesses around it were open

My dog went in for a grooming appointment. When I went to pick up my dog nobody came to get me from the desk so for 5-7 minutes I could hear the groomer yelling at my dog because she was whining in the kennel. My dog is not usually in a kennel so when she is and in a strange place that makes her nervous. At one point it sounded like the kennel had gotten hit. I’m disgusted and will not be coming back.

This place is great. I’ve been to a lot of bad petco’s but this is not one of them. They have a great selection of anything from reptiles to spiders, fish and cats. Everything is cared for relatively well. I got a leopard gecko and he’s huge and doing very well. Very healthy as well. Everything is reasonably priced and the membership saves so much money. I only took away one star due to lots of their refrigerated bugs being dead but otherwise it’s a 5 star for me.

Good for supplies, but for services, go elsewhere. We attempted to use the advertised "puppy package" at the vet, but it includes some vaccinations that puppies can't get or would have already had based upon age. You can't break the package, so you'll pay full price. If you have peanut allergies, be aware that peanut butter is the default (without asking) distraction at the groomer.

Cat food prices have soared, both dry and canned! 6 months ago a bag of cat food was $14, today $20! Outrageous for people living on a budget. Fortunately Aldi, Trader Joe's are nearby and a much better choice for food for your pets..

I go in every couple weeks to get stuff for my fish. The tanks are always nice and clean!

Company policy is not told before you get to the appointment for grooming. The tech even said they do that on purpose. My dog was rejected due to him being on medication that is prescribed by the vet. I have a mini-Aussie and he will be on it for life. Have to find different groomer since they will never groom him again. Would have been nice to know when I made the appointment two months ago.

Crammed full of pet supplies. Difficult to maneuver through and find my item.
