1. If you are leasing the car and looking for a selling, make sure to call them before you go, because they can't buyout lease for lots of brands. There was not any communication about that through the online appointment nor in the confirmation email. It is good though Eric, the cool guy handled my appointment in the store explained to me in the very beginning of the conversation. But since I have already made the trip there, I still asked for an appraisal.2. They throw away your stuff without your permission. I usually leave all the parking and fueling receipts in the cupholder on the driver's door. Every month I take those receipts to my company for reimbursement. However, after the carmax guy appraised my car, the receipts were all gone. Maybe the appraisal guy thought he was doing me a favour by throw trash away. But he costed me about $300. This is not the first time I take the car to do appraisal or maintenance but it is my first time to experience that. It is the most expensive appraisal I have ever had.3. The people there are nice and professional, and willing to help and answering questions, at least those who talked with me. I would definitely give a 5 star if they didn't touch my stuff.Overall, I do not recommend this place to sell your car.

This is the fastest service I’ve ever encountered while purchasing a vehicle. I am very happy with my purchase and really love how easy it was to purchase and sign documents. Everyone was so nice and professional also.

They did not clean or gas up the car. Sales person cranked the car before the test drive and was not around to when we started it after buying to witness the 2 failed cranks.

One was as low as I could go process is absurd.Made an appointment checked in for 230 on Sunday arrived on time to be told they were running late a few min and sit tight, fine by me. Then after 30 min found another employee and asked where the 2019 raptor which is was there to see and confirmed via appointment. He said they do not know it was not on the lot but if I could wait a few hours after the rush of folks who did not make appointment they will locate the truck. Told them thanks and left. Called corporate to share my experience then told Corporate to take me out of the system and not contact me. Then 1.15 hours after the scheduled appointment as I was checked in received a call from the store ask if I still needed help. Absolutely absurd. Will not EVER return regardless or price and promises. I guess will stay with professionalism at the dealerships or order on line.Folks do not waste your time unless it is limitlessCarMax clearly you have lost your way, and permanently lost a customer. I will go out of my way to share this horrible experience.1/24/24 Update left customer service a review but offered a sorry was the response. Really bad

The lady helping me sell my Hyundai accent was amazing! So helpful, courteous, and friendly. We will definitely be back to buy again when our lifestyle demands another vehicle. I love CarMax and the people are the best!

TOTAL SCAM ARTISTS. Beware of their so called “warranty” scam, they will sell you a car with almost 100k miles on it and also a 100k mile warranty so you get screwed over with paying extra for the warranty they will not honor.

(2023) Had a great car shopping experience with the team here. One thing to keep in mind when purchasing a car here (maybe everywhere or just SC) is that you will have to pay your vehicle property taxes with your county tax office so CarMax can send your tags to you. This can be a pricey amount so you may want to keep that in mind when budgeting for your new vehicle.Update: (3 stars)[It's been a while but I wanted to share this part of my experience with Carmax too.] If you find any dings, marks, scratches, etc. on your vehicle at the time of your purchase and Carmax agrees to repair them for free, get them repaired immediately. I was told by Carmax (Independence Blvd.) to bring my vehicle back to the store, at my convenience, for the repair of scratches on the car. When I tried to schedule an appointment to bring in the car, no one answered the phone. I let the phone ring forever, called right back on several occasions and left a voicemail on one occasion - no answer and no callback. The store is in NC and I'm in SC so I wanted to speak with someone to make sure they had time to repair my car before driving out there. When I finally got someone on the phone, they told me the repairs couldn't be completed because the repairs needed to be completed in the first 30 days (I think they said 30 days). I explained to them that I had tried reaching out to them in the first 30 days but they still told me no.
