Freedom Park is a 98-acre gem of Charlotte featuring a serene lake, walking trails, and plenty of shaded areas. It offers extensive amenities including ball fields, a full court basketball court, tennis and pickleball courts, soccer and volleyball courts, a batting cage, and a multipurpose field. Visitors find a pond with ducks, picnic tables, grills, five shelters, and playgrounds including a Play 60 area. The park has a bandshell amphitheatre, though concerts are no longer held. It includes restrooms, parking areas, and greenway access, with the Mahlon Adams Pavilion available for events. Described as beautiful, well-maintained, and safe, it is a dog-friendly, kid-friendly, and family-friendly spot perfect for walking, jogging, fishing, or simply relaxing. The ambiance is revitalizing, with a sense of blissful harmony, though parking can sometimes be challenging.

Always a blast to go back and visit when I am in town. I took my now 10 year old son and he had a blast on the new parkour course thing. It was clean, people are friendly, and always a great way to have a bit of fun. Only thing that could make it more appealing is to add in a splash pad or something for the kids to cool... read full comment
