Everyone there was super helpful when my partner and I were there having trouble with the app to check out and return our rental. The general manager helped me with my concern as well when the app was giving me trouble and overall we were impressed with how much each employee there offered to help us when we were there. We will continue to use u-haul at this location to help us in the future. Thanks guys!

The location at 340 Dalton Avenue, Charlotte, NC employees the rudest female manager, Kennedy Meeks, I have encountered in the 30 years I’ve been renting from U-haul. Her passive aggressive attitude is almost laughable, but unacceptable. After multiple trips to “her” location and returning the first truck she provided I informed her that the check engine light was illuminated, low tire pressure monitor was on and no windshield wiper fluid to clean the filthy windshield. Her response was “I’m the manager and know what condition my trucks are in” my reply was “so you knowingly rent moving trucks with low tire pressure, check engine light on and no windshield wiper fluid?”…she conveniently walked out of the make shift office with no reply. The problems just mounted after that until I returned the second truck. Good luck if you have to deal with her directly. The 2 male associates I dealt with were friendly, curious and helpful. Hopefully they will wait on you and not the “manger” as she so rudely reminded me on several occasions. Even after I called customer service and asked them not to have her call my cellphone again, the woman called me, again, 5 minutes later. She’s a spicy one, save yourself the hassle and rent from another friendlier location in Charlotte.

Extremely rude and unprofessional employees. The idiot who called me threatened to report the truck as stolen as I tried to explain to her that I was updating my card on the app so I could pay what I owed and find somewhere to put my stuff that was on the truck. I’ll never rent from this location again.

The lady working in the “office” was on of the most rude people we have met. She yelled at us to move our car, even though there is no signage for where to park. Then she was weirdly obsessed with us while another employee was assisting us (listening in, making comments about the $30 service charge, etc). Before that, she had tried to pass over the guy who was in front of us in line, obviously to continue harassing us herself. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION IF YOU VALUE YOUR SANITY

While the GM was efficient and pleasant, every other employee was actively negative and rude. I would spend an extra half hour driving if it means I don't have to deal with them again.

Ghetto (with the exception of one young man). I tried to reserve a pickup for four days but they said they only do up to 6 hours but that information was not on the website and I already had a reservation. Unhelpful and poor communication.

Location is abritrarily charging $15 for insurance and then saying to go change in the app, which is not possible once the start the rental period. Insurance is NOT a requirement.

I drove in with a U-Haul and auto transport trailer coming in from Columbus, OH. I stopped here two different days. I drove straight in here and they immediately unhooked me and checked in the auto transport trailers. Two days later I dropped off the actual U-Haul. Smooth process and price was exactly as expected, no extras! Thank you for making my relocation smooth!

Worst service I have ever received took the 30 minutes to check us in. Kia was so rude she yelled at as we pulled in then kept yelling at the other employees in the small building. They acted like we were the problem for them not knowing how to use their system. I have used u-Hal plenty of times and never had an issue, but this was just one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had, and it added a worse experience to my move

Thai uhaul is absolutely awful, the worst customer service. We scheduled an appliance dolly that was not ready at our pickup time. When someone else returned it an hour later the employee said “well there it is”. They close their gates to prevent you from dropping off the uhaul before the scheduled time agreed in the contract. Avoid this location at all costs.

Whoever this lady is answering the phone, she is nasty and rude. She do not provide customer service. She don’t answer your questions with a professional, friendly tone, she put you on hold without asking, she doesn’t seem to want to answer any questions, nonchalant attitude. Ma’am, please find another job! This is not for you….If you’re not happy with your pay, you need to find something that’s suitable for you, if this is not the job for you don’t make the customers life miserable because you’re miserable. Customer Service is not how it used to be…. SMDH…. just remember Ma’am, you’re going to be a customer yourself one day and you gonna want somebody to treat you with great customer service! Don’t expect great customer service to be provided to you, if you’re not providing Customer Service to others.

I want to preface this with a heads up that my experience this past weekend with this U-Haul location has not always been my experience with this U-Haul location. The previous two times I've rented from this Dalton Avenue U-Haul were much easier and friendlier.PROS:• The pick up was on-time and quick. The truck was there, so there was no delay from the moment of check-in to getting on the road.• The truck operated as expected (no incidents).CONS:• I reserved the truck, a utility dolly, an appliance dolly, a furniture dolly, and a 1/2 dozen furniture pads about 1 week in advance. I reserved from 8:30am to 7:30pm on a Saturday. The reservation was confirmed and no one from the location called to say otherwise. However, when we arrived to pick up the truck and equipment, they only had a single utility dolly. The staff member said, "We don't have any other dollies." (So then why does it say they're available to rent online? ?)• The same person, who was checking in customers, was very short and uncommunicative with us. They weren't unkind, but the customer service was SEVERELY lacking.• Similarly, there was a concerning lack of communication about after-hours drop-off. We reserved the truck and equipment until 7:30pm, we thought there would be a way to simply drop off the truck and drop the keys in a lockbox. NOPE. But the on-site staff person did not say anything that morning to indicate that we wouldn't be able to drop off at that time. So when we arrived at around 6:30pm for an early drop off and saw the gate closed, we were frustrated and confused (especially after a full day of moving). We called the U-Haul hotline and a helpful customer service agent made a note on my account urging the location not to charge us when we dropped off the truck and equipment the next day, and she apologized for the inconvenience and lack of communication. (Don't let me reserve a truck for the whole day if you don't offer after-hours drop off ?)• When we did drop off the truck and equipment this morning, that same on-site staff person (who was short with us when we picked up the truck) just opened the office door, took the key, and went back inside without saying a word to us. Only when they noticed us still standing there about 30 seconds later, did they pop their head back out to ask if we needed anything else. I began asking about the discrepancy in afterhours pick up... they interrupted me before I could finish my sentence with, "Oh we don't do that so you're good." Then they shut the door in our faces.• It's been about an hour since we dropped off the equipment, and I still haven't received a confirmation or an invoice from U-Haul following the successful drop-off of the equipment. I plan to call the U-Haul hotline tomorrow, but again, notice the lack of any helpful communication and basic customer service.So, all this to say we did not have a pleasant experience when it came to engaging with this particular U-Haul location. Sure, we got what we needed to get done that day, but with some worrying and communication gaps along the way.If you're going to use this particular U-Haul location, I recommend stopping by physically to reserve or rent your truck and equipment. And perhaps arrive with lower-than-usual expectations on customer service.

It was very unorganized. When I called for help I was told that I needed to call customer service to initiate a refund and then I saw I was charged $30 extra instead of the original $20. Get better people that actually want to help not people that just need money. They don’t care about their job or the people.

NOTHING. I reserved a truck plus some equipment and movers. The location I reserved the truck and equipment was changed twice and when I finally was able to get a truck, they didn't have the equipment I needed for my move.

Worst uhaul facility I've ever been to. They don't answer the phone. They don't have dollys. The don't have a drop box. Extremely bad customer service.
