I came in, and I asked the worker with a Gov’t Mule shirt on if she could replicate my favorite coffee recipe from Mississippi called a Cookie Monster. She looked at the recipe and was able to replicate it, honestly she made it taste better than usual! Definitely go to ducks cottage.

Went to this sweet coffee shop every morning during our week-long stay in Duck. The line is long but moves very quickly. Don't be scared. Stick it out. The staff is kind and efficient! Has books and gifts to purchase. Right near the boardwalk shops. I recommend the Mucky Duck and the Sand Shark and a walk by the water! Enjoy!

The iced dirth chai i ordered was delicious. Only complaint was the line made it hard to browse the books at the same time because it was crowded. But an adorable coffee shop and lots of selection.

Quick place to grab coffee, i expected a wait i went on a sunday morning but the way they move the line is perfect. I was probably in line, received my coffee and was out the door with less than 8 minutes. They ensure the flow keeps moving. The coffee was great, coconut coffee hit the spot! Definitely recommend visiting this place for your morning coffee.

This is one of my must visit places every time I visit Duck, NC.
Not only can I get a great coffee, but there is an AMAZING selection of books that is sure to provide something for everyone.
The place is small and has very limited seating. However, this adds to the overall ambience.

An older worker (probably a manager) was super rude and abrupt while in store. It seemed very targeted as I was the only person of color in the store. Pro tip: don’t get there for books bc you won’t be able to look at them during busy hours. They push you through the line

Five people after me got their orders before I did. I had to request my own coffee after realizing no one was making my order. Waited about 20 minutes for two drinks and got no apology. Girls in the back were too busy throwing milk at each other.

Great coffee, great atmosphere, great history, great book recommendations and selection, and not least - friendly and relaxed people working hard. Been going for more years than I can count. Always bring some beans and books off the island with me. Sleeper win: butter cake.
