DO NOT BANK HERE. I cannot stress this enough. My father and I were members for 20 years and I had my first mortgage with coastal. When he passed away they were beyond incompetent in helping me with his estate. They lack the personal connections of a local bank and the knowledge and support of larger banks. I had far better experiences with chase and Schwab. Stay far, far away.

If i could give ZERO stars i would!!!!!!Iv had multiple issues with them, first they tried to take my whole loan when i paid a payment i have proof of when i paid and the amount paid but i had to deal with the fees from my bank to get it reversed. They have added money onto my loan they have taken money from my loan they have been telling me 5-7 business days or in 10 business days we will contact you. I have no words and i wouldn’t wish this upon anyone it’s ridiculous and iv been dealing with the issue for months now. Nothing is being resolved, not a single person knows how to help me or how to fix my issue if them adding money onto my loan they just change the reason of why it was added everytime i call.Ridiculous is what it is.

Wonderful! I'm new to auto loans and felt very anxious about the process, but the staff here educated me and put me at ease! I was able to open an account in about 30 minutes as opposed to several business days online. Veronica was friendly, informative, and extremely helpful! I was very confused about the process of buying a car with a loan, but she walked me through it step-by-step and I'm very grateful! I'm excited to have an account with people who care.

Great Credit Union

Friendly customer service, but no actual service! I was looking for a credit union service center to access funds from a long distance credit after 5pm on a Friday. A quick Google search led me to Coastal Credit Union. I called the toll free number listed and was reassured that the location listed could help me and was open until 7pm. The representative confirmed that my credit union was a part of the Co-op network and I could withdraw funds. I arrived at 5:35pm, after the branch closed, but I had been reassured that the “PTM” was open until 7pm. After driving around the building a couple of times, I parked and followed other customers up to the building entrance. There was a sign directing customers to two other locations that had a drive up teller until 7pm. I drove to the first location and waited in the drive through line. When it was my turn, the “PTM” never connected me to a teller. I called the customer service number listed on the side and once again reached a very helpful person who explained that they were having connectivity issues and she reset the machine. After waiting for it to shut down and reboot, it still did not connect me to an actual teller. So I drove 10 miles away to the next location. Once again there was a line of cars waiting. When it was my turn, the ATM screen didn’t off the option of speaking with a live teller. Other potential customers were equally frustrated. I drove around to the second machine, waited, and nothing. I drove towards the building were customers were again waiting to access the lobby ATM. Then I noticed the screen change on the drive up “PTM” and decided to try again. Finally a teller appeared on the screen. I told him what I needed and scanned my ID. When he asked me to enter my account number, I repeated that I needed to access a Co-op branch. I gave him the name, then waited. After a few minutes, he explained that I could not withdraw any funds after all. Apparently this Co-op only works in one direction! I could not deposit or withdraw funds from my credit union at all. The teller was very apologetic as I explained that I was told I could do this when I first called the toll fee number over an hour before! Ridiculous! But they were all very nice in providing no service at all!

We live in between two CFCU locations and alternate between the two depending on where else we're going. Pulling in and out of this location can be tricky since there is no direct entrance, you have to drive around other businesses. Remote teller access on a Saturday is nice, something our local BB&T branch never offered but I've also found that using your ATM card to gain entrance can be iffy. If it doesn't work, try swiping it at different speeds until you gain admittance. We much prefer credit unions to big banks since they are not all about profits and shareholders, and offer better banking products.

The customer service sucked. Our representative was either preoccupied, tired or as my husband put it high. Very cold and distant. She then pass me our new paperwork which has another person's information in it. I complained online and they had the nerve to make it right by having the same moron that ticked us off call to offer what I perceived as more of a "justification of her actions" than a heartfelt apology. Trust the bench manger will see my face TODAY....
