“I highly recommend Animal House of Lewisville. I have been a customer for several years, and recently, my sweet 14-year-old dog, Maggie, passed away after a battle with cancer.
Dr. Allgood was incredible; she caught the cancer during a regular checkup, and thanks to her care and the proper treatment, Maggie was able to live another six months mostly pain-free. It is so difficult to lose a beloved pet, but I am incredibly thankful for that extra time to prepare and say goodbye.
When the end finally came, the staff was wonderful in helping prevent Maggie from suffering, and her final visit could not have been handled with more dignity or compassion. When I picked up her remains, I was moved by the thoughtful package they prepared—a beautiful urn, a paw print, and a card signed with personal messages from the staff who knew her. I want to send a huge Thank You to the entire team for helping us through this transition. If you are looking for the best care around, you have found it.”
“The entire staff is terrific--very caring and attentive. Debbie and Jennifer at the front desk are so friendly and efficient. Dr. Sechrist is very kind, gentle, and thorough with all our dogs. The vet techs are super sweet and knowledgeable and clearly love animals. We couldn't be happier with our choice of vets.”
“I know i am very late to reviewing this clinic. But in 2024 I brought them my rescue beagle to be spayed after she had weaned her pups. I was absolutely a nervous wreck as the previous year I had my red heeler spayed at her vets office that was 30 minutes away from home and she had bled into her belly 4 hours (to the point she couldn't stand up, while being monitored at the vet) before it was noticed and she was rushed back into surgery, the complications from there continued with anemia, needing a blood transfusion and an abscess from having 2 surgeries in 1 day. So when I rescued my beagle and found out she was pregnant not long after I rescued her. I knew she needed to be spayed despite how terrified I was to let my little beagle go through the surgery that had almost killed my larger dog and started asking around about where to get this done as I was not going to let the vets office do this. Well everyone told me Surry Spay and Neuter and that's where I chose. I was very happy when i googled them and realized they are only 10 minutes down the road from me so no long drive home after they spayed her! They spayed my beagle and did an amazing job! There were no complications, I was called after surgery and assured she had done great and she recovered quickly. Months later in 2024 when her pup was 7 months old I brought her in to be spayed as well. She is a very nervous puppy and I was worried about leaving her, well the clinic called to update me after her surgery and made sure to tell me she had done well while there (she usually is very nervous with strangers). The woman who brought her out to me was talking to her so kindly and i could tell my pup had been in excellent hands. My pup recovered quickly and had no complications. I cannot thank them enough for taking care of my babies and making the spay process less scary for me!! Definitely would recommend them to anyone! Ive just rescued a male dog and plan on taking him there to be neutered as soon as he is healthy enough!”
“I love shallowford animal hospital. It took us going to 3 different vets to finally find dr eads and shallowford. They truly care about our Saint berdoodle, hutch! Hutch got neutered Dec 11 and at a different vet and developed complications that led to a hematoma that ruptured. During this time we took hutch back to the original vet and they did not do anything prior to it rupturing which led us to have to take him to an emergency vet for another surgery. He is now doing great. We decided to take him to shallowford to get his surgical sight checked and they examined him fully. Dr Eads knows his stuff and Hutch loved him! He also gets groomed at shallowford. They do an amazing job with his wavy doodle coat. If your trying to find another vet please go to shallowford as you will not regret it and hopefully this saves you time from visiting other vets like I did and taking over a year to find the perfect one”

“I changed from another veterinary hospital in the area to River Ridge. I am so happy with the service and care my dog receives. I have been in customer service my whole life and I am always treated so nice when I walk in. Dr. Fox is very knowledgeable and very caring and I can't say enough good things about her. The staff is also very nice to deal with. I'm glad I found them because my Rosie deserves the best. Thank you for all you do.......The Matera Family”
“My dog Apollo had been very sick for weeks and after 3 visits to our vet we kept getting no answers and no help so we came here. It was such a breath of relief compared to what we had been dealing with. Dr Leon took the time to listen to what had happened to my dog, what were his symptoms, what had the other vet tried to do to treat him, and then he went through what he thought the best course of action would be. He told us from the beginning he suspected it may be cancer and to be wary, but that he would still continue to try everything he could incase that it was something else. We had no trouble getting seen and weren’t being charged $120 emergency fee everytime we needed to be seen or speak to someone like my other vet had been doing. Even when I was just going to pick up medication Dr Leon took time out of his day to come talk to me, see how Apollo was doing and tell me what the plan was if this did or didn’t work. He was very accommodating and worked to try and find a solution to what was happening. Unfortunately it was cancer and there was nothing we could do further to help him, but every one was very kind to us during the process of putting him to rest. I have nothing but kind things to say about this place. They genuinely care about their patients and the people who come here. They listen and we weren’t excessively overcharged and told we needed unnecessary treatment and supplies like my previous vet had been doing.”
