“On the EC Coast Guard base. Take the first left in front of the minimart gas station. The bank is about 700-1000 feet down this road on the left hand side of the road.

Nice people and often busy but there is a full service ATM outside.”

“As someone who has been a life long NCSECU member, but had to move out of state, this place was truly lovely and helped me in my original panic with figuring things out. I deeply appreciate a place that helps you take that next step in life. The staff were all lovely, the place was clean, it has been a few years since I last visited but I wanted to throw my review in and hope it helps someone else out one day!”

“I was looking for a local bank in Elizabeth City, NC and came across Southern Bank. My banker Kayla, professional, informative, and friendly, opened my new accounts. The tellers were also very welcoming and helpful. I like that the savings account comes with an ATM and not a DEBIT card. I was surprised that they have a Christmas Club which I haven't seen in a very long time. This will help me set a holiday budget and no more holiday credit card debts. I look forward to banking here.”

“They have the beast cure we service. It’s nice to go to a bank and they know you by name. We had a situation where my husbands card was hacked, they fixed the issue and sent out new cards immediately. Definitely glad to bank with them.”

“Abigail answered the phone this morning and immediately helped me get a new bank card issued. I work at Nissan in Customer Service as the Owner Loyalty Manager and customer satisfaction is top priority. Abigail’s presence on the phone as well as her ability to quickly resolve my concern as well as her pleasant tone and cheerful voice made it a very pleasant experience. That is hard to find these days. She will be the employee to get customers in the door and keep coming back! She is a Keeper!!”

“Today, I closed out my father’s estate. The gentleman that helped me was so kind and told me stories about his interactions with my late father. I truly appreciate the way that I was taken care of. I want to thank all of the tellers and bankers that cared for my father for these last few years. Forever grateful :)”

“I’ve used this bank since I was 16 with my first ever account. Ive tried others and SECU is the best by far. They don’t have any monthly fees like most of all the other banks around. So it costs nothing to have/keep my account. Good service and polite people. ??”

“My husband and I had to visit this branch today to settle some estate issues. That required us speaking with a banker. Diana was incredibly helpful and kind. It was a pleasure banking with her today.”

“My husband and I went through 3 banks before we found First Citizens. We live in VA Beach and have access to a multitude of banks within a few minutes drive. However, we drive almost an hour to do our banking in Elizabeth City because the people here take such good care of all our banking needs. Kelly in particular has gone out of her way to help us. Simply put, there is no better bank.”

“I've been a BB&T/Truist customer for over 20 years. I have read the reviews posted about the E C Branch. Since 9/11 not to mention Covid as well, 90% of the American public wants everything "NOW" for Me, Myself and I, regardless of whom they have to yell at, or shove out of the way to obtain their goal! As sad as it is , this is the world we live in today! As others have stated, the ATM machine was out of service for quit awhile. At times you will have to wait, weather inside or drive thru. I myself have been greeted with a friendly smile and "How can I help you" weather in the drive thru, at the counter or with a manager. The complaints you speak of can be solely placed on the "Corporate Office" The local Branches must adhere to the rules and regulations set forth by "Corporate America" . In short, this is the body you need to complain to, however it will probably fall on deaf ears like it always does at the top! E C branch, "Thank you for the great service over the years".”
