“The staff here is super friendly, they have a unique and wonderful selection of house plants, a wide variety of pots, great classes, and will be our go-to place for filling our yard with beautiful, healthy flowers and plants!”
“You will fi d the staff to always be friendly and knowledgeable of their products. Great selection of quality plants, fertilizers, seeds, feeds, seasonal live plant nursery with indoor ornamentals, garden veggie staples and pernenials, gardening tools and accessories, hats, sunglasses, pottery, potting supplies and more. Bonus, they're at the farmer's market. We make a day of going to Jesse Israel and farmer's market for some ice cream, boiled peanuts and fresh produce. It's a good time always and Jesse Israel is one of my top gardening go to suppliers. I am an avid permaculturist and gardener, so I can be picky.”
“Linda's always has an amazing selection of plants for any season!! And some of the prettiest pumpkins around. Everyone is knowledgeable and super nice, I have only had good experiences here throughout the years.”
“Fantastic spot. Beautiful items and friendly, joyful people (and dog!). Don’t come to Asheville without stopping in…or come to Asheville just to shop here - absolutely worth it! Well done!”
“This review is for an Rlc Goldenzelle 'Lemon Chiffon', which arrived in perfect shape.
I most highly recommend Appalachian Tropicals to any orchid buyer. Aside from one other place in the country to which it is equal in product more expensive. Appalachian Tropicals is the absolute best place to buy orchids online. I have ordered many orchids, each one of them perfect. Also, their orchids do an incredibly well over time. Many online vendors send out orchids that look great, but do not stand the test of time. I never have to worry about that with this orchid seller.”
“I Have been going to Mountain Variety for about 15 years Now. Ever Interaction has been Positive, They do All the Maintenance and Preventative Maintenance for My Chainsaws, Even electric, my weed eaters, and Most of my lawn equipment. I collect old tools and even When they might think 🤔 their Junk, Nick will sharpen and repair them. I had become real attached to A Ryobi weed eater that was the 4 stroke and because Nick continued to Repair it Until there was Truly No More Life to It. It lasted me about 8 or 9 years. I'm Not Gentle with Equipment. Anyone else would have told me to Toss it at about the 6 Year mark. 😆 LoL”
“If you are making a delivery here with a semi truck, the dock is in the northwest corner of the property. It's a bit difficult to get in because of all the tractors on the property, but it is manageable. They had me unloaded in about 45 minutes so I can't complain. Thanks to their quick unload, I was able to just make it to my next stop on time. My preferred truck route is I-26 to NC 280”
“Ace is NOT the place: Home Depot is! Especially if you need to get copies made of your house key and your contractor super-glued a cover on the key. 3 keys made by Ace Hardware did NOT work but the 3 made by Richard Osborne, Pro Department Supervisor, work beautifully! The simple task of making a key was complicated by the glued-on cover and it required two employees using snips, pliers, a knife and possibly some special incantations to remove the cover and expose the key to be copied. Richard was friendly, helpful, and thorough in his valiant and successful effort to cut me 3 shiny new keys that all work on my house. Thank you for your perseverance, Richard and Home Depot.”
“Exceptional service from Asst. Manager Bobby for a return which we purchased at the Clayton,Ga store. We lost the receipt but he honored our return and issued a gift card for the amount. He was very understanding and came up to the service desk when the supervisor called him up to help when he wasn't going to help us.”
“We purchased enough lumber to build a handicap ramp recently and had the best service from Patty at the Pro Desk! She walked us through the registration process for the Pro Xtra program, rang up our purchases from across the room, got us a discount and made the whole transaction so pleasant. That store has a gem in Patty, they better hold on to her ❤️”
“I am usually not a big Home Depot customer. Today I rented a latter from the Hendersonville store, and I would like to recommend the rental department to anyone. Both of the men that I dealt with on pickup and return were great to work with.”
“We’ve been buying tools at The Home Depot again and again, and every time we’re genuinely impressed. You can find really good discounts if you keep an eye on the deals, and the quality of the tools has never let us down.
The selection is huge — from simple everyday tools to more serious equipment — and everything is well organized and easy to find. The staff is helpful without being pushy, which makes the whole experience even better.
If you’re looking for reliable tools at a fair price, this is definitely a place worth checking out. We’ll definitely be coming back.”
“Love Home Depot especially the one on Strickland. The people at the Prodesk specially Ryan, Adam and Lorenzo are amazing. I really bend over backwards to make sure you get the best service.”
“I went in to find an LED light bulb and we (me and the store manager) couldn't find it anywhere, so I just decided to get a different kind which was sitting above a price tag of $13. I went to self checkout, and it rang up for $54, so I was confused on why. Me and the lady working self checkout went back to the light section to see what happened, and apparently it was placed above the wrong tag which wasn't even their fault, and they gave it to me for $13! Being nice to the employees can make all the difference at places even though they probably would've done that anyways :) Thanks guys!!!”
“Home Depot in Asheville (especially the Fairview Rd store) is my regular stop for home stuff.
Pros:
Strong in-store selection and stock — like DeWalt cordless tools, Behr paints, pressure-treated lumber, mulch, and plants for our mountain yard.
Super helpful associates, e.g., Roy in lumber or folks at the Pro Desk for Ryobi kits, Milwaukee tools, or bigger jobs. Staff often walks you to items and gives solid advice.
Competitive prices, reliable tool rentals, easy in-store returns, and clean, well-organized stores.
Cons:
Delivery can be spotty.
Busy times mean longer lines, especially weekends.
Great for in-person shopping and local projects in the Asheville area. Skip delivery for heavy items if possible. Convenience and variety keep me coming back.”
“Very kind. Good atmosphere and truly the most reliable business in asheville for all lawn and garden supplies. Can't say enough how professional and kind the whole crew there is.”
