Amerigas is by far the worst customer service company I have ever dealt with. They failed to make the promised auto deliveries 2 X in 2 years. The last one they missed was during an extremely cold period before the Holidays. Knowing I should have had a delivery I tried to contact them only to spend over 41/2 hours over the course of 3 days waiting on hold, being abused by customer service bots being disconnected when insisting on speaking to a supervisor, being promised deliveries 4 times that didn’t arrive, being sent alerts that I would need to be home if tank is below 10%. All of this while I was trying to enjoy the Holidays with family in FL. I had to get keys and alarm codes to 2 sets of neighbors and ask them to be on alert for Amerigas Even the Supervisors made promises of delivery and no delivery was made!!After this of course I wanted to change companies only to have Amerigas refuse to sell the tank. Stay away from this company is my advice !!!!I have since converted my heat and hot water to high efficiency electric heat pumps and my fireplace to a wood stove. Needless to say I won’t be buying any gas from Amerigas, the largest and worst customer service company in the US

Could not speak to someone that understood me. Man delivered gas and cut off at tank because it was empty. First man would not deliver because empty. I ended up lighting pilot myself. Horrible customer service. Would not recommend to anyone. Ever

I have ask that they leave me a receipt when they fill my gas tank. They said they would but in the passed 5 years never got one yet. Another thing is that they charge me to get my bill mail to me. Never heard of that. People have said to quit and go with someone else that doesn't charge me. I'm on a fixed income and can't afford any more charges.

This has been the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. I don’t have a single positive thing to say about them. Avoid using them at all costs. It was like pulling teeth to ever get them fill my tank when I did have an account.I moved out of that property and a year later I’m still getting bills even though I’ve canceled my account TWICE. Had to call again and deal with their terrible customer service just to get a bill canceled on my already canceled account (make sense of that). I would rather freeze to death in the winter than use Amerigas ever again in my life

I was not at home when the delivery was made, but as always, Amerigas provided excellent service.

I had to call several times to get the old tanks that were used for the farm to get them removed and the one servicing the house filled and it took Amerigas 4+ months and the local office is closed so I had to deal with the call center the whole time and no one could give me an answer. Best yet, the tanks that serviced the farm still had fuel in them and Amerigas never gave us credit for the fuel that was left in the tanks and then had the nerve to call us for late payment for the removal of the tanks. I told the Amerigas representative that called that I would like to see the credit of the leftover fuel against the tank removal and see the final bill. Amerigas, you have got to do better. I seriously considered opening up a local company to compete and provide better customer service and operational execution.

RUN, RUN AS FAST AS YOU CAN!!!! DO NOT give these people your money!!! I called to set up an account for propane delivery and have been given the run around for a week now and still no delivery!!! Took my payment despite the fact that the account wasn't supposed to be charged until the day of delivery and now won't issue refund to my card, only offered to cut a check. UNACCEPTABLE! Customer service is friendly but that's where their competence level stops! Can't communicate with service team to make delivery schedule...still waiting for delivery with no date and no refund.

*Customer service when I call in is terrible, short responses that don't really give information, not personable, and hard to understand. These people I would give a minus rating.** The local drivers are helpful and friendly, go above and beyond to be informative, and get results in a prompt manner. They are the reason I have not switched companies. I give these fellows a 10-star rating.. Because I would never want to short-change the rating on the folks out in the field, I'm giving 5 stars, but not because I think the people that answer the phone when you call in deserve even 1 star......

I ran out of gas on Thursday. Called and set up delivery and told it would be here by Saturday. Got an email Friday night stating they couldn’t come out for another 2 weeks because my tank needed to be checked. Finally got a supervisor that offered to fill it up to a 1/2 tank. That never came so here we are on phone talking to the call center that is reading off script. I am sitting here no gas, no stove or No dryer and apparently no Easter dinner.

A follow up to this post. The company’s automated response instructed me to email their customer service department directly at the provided address. I did, a total of three times. It’s been over a week. I have not received a response. This further impresses upon me, since Amerigas acquired this company, customer service is a charade.Amerigas (Heritage Propane) sent me a post card stating, “We Want You BacK”. Really?? I called 03/15/2023 to give Amerigas an opportunity to win my business back. The first representative I spoke to was having an obvious problem understanding me and I was having a hard time understanding her. When I respectfully requested to speak to a person who spoke english has their first language, the customer service representative hung up on me. I called the telephone number to my local Amerigas office only to be connect again to a person that does not speak english as their first language. This representative apologized for the first representative’s actions and proceeded to take my order. She advised me, I had to pay $149.00 to have my system checked. I declined the system check, it’s my tank, I’m paying for the gas. In my state, a system check is not required unless the tank is empty, my 1000 gallon tank is at 50%. She then advised me to pay the $149.00 fee and try to get it removed after the delivery of the propane. I clearly remember now why they have not filled my tank since 2019.

Amerigas is the worst company I have ever dealt with. Long story, but they let us run out of propane & then locked our tank because no one was there which they never told us needed to be. After 3 days in 20 degree weather and them making no effort to unlock the tank, we changed companies. Our full, locked tank has been sitting in the yard for 2+ months and are making no effort to come & get it. They didn't show up for the appointment yesterday & they've continued to send us bills despite many phone calls trying to resolve this. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. There's no one locally to talk to, customer service is non-existent and it's an absolute joke of a company.

One of the most miserable customer service experiences I have ever had from a company. Simple request to upgrade a tank as an existing customer and connect it to one new appliance. The first site survey was completed and I scheduled an install. The group of employees came out and informed me that the first employee didnt do their job and they had no information so they performed the site survey again. I then scheduled to go ahead with the install as well. Amerigas though has tried to charge for two site surveys, as though someone would actually request 2 in a single week. In amongst this mess, twice more delivery trucks showed up to try to fill the current tank that was to be removed. Both times they said their systems showed it as a 500 gallon tank, which is not true of the current or the desired new tank size. Finally the date of install shows up and no one from Amerigas arrives, no call, no email, no communication whatsoever. Attempting to call the company, assuming you can dig up the proper number, leads you to an outsourced call center that is not given the tools by Amerigas to actually resolve consumer issues. That is assuming you get through as I had multiple attempts of holding for 15-60 mins without anyone answering the call from the queue. The online chat, also seemingly requires 10-15 min wait times. This is just a company that does not care about the consumer, they have invested far too much money in ignoring the customer and preventing feedback to be effective as a business. Avoid at all costs.

I first noticed a smell around my 500 gallon propane tank located behind my house. I called customer service trying to explain the situation stating that this was not likely a safety issue but a waste issue. The customer service representative did not seem to understand the distinction and sent someone out that night to investigate the situation. It was discovered by this technician that there were no leaks in the gas line going to my house but there was a leak around the gauge on the propane tank itself. The technician said that he would put in a request for a day time technician to come out and address the leak. Over a month passed and no one contacted me.I called customer service after waiting for a month and explained the situation again. The representative told me that "no one is currently available to come to your location but someone will contact you." I waited for a week and no contact was made.I filled out a detailed written request on the Amerigas website and submitted it. I never received a response.I called customer service again and explained the situation. This agent told me that no one contacted me because a service appointment was never scheduled. She gave me a date and approximate time that someone would come out to inspect and repair the tank. The date passed and no one came out or called.I called customer service again to enquire why no one had shown up to the service appointment. My tank was now at 8% at this point. I explained the situation again. They also misunderstood the situation and dispatched a technician immediately because they believed the leak to be a safety concern. As the agent again read me a mandatory set of safety instructions, suggesting that I turn off all appliances and leave the house, I could not help but wonder how Amerigas decided to route all customer calls to a call center that could not possibly understand how to do anything besides take payment for a gas delivery. Because my tank was so low I went ahead and also ordered 50 gallons of propane at this time. I only ordered 50 gallons because I'm already considering switching to a different company. The same technician that had responded to the previous call showed up at my property approximately 2 hours later. To his credit the technician was never rude or irritated about being sent out after hours. I do not blame him for this situation. He again inspected the tank and said he thought it best to simply disconnect the tank and have a new tank delivered possibly as early as tomorrow. He said he would put an urgent rush on it. This prospect sent shivers down my spine because the last time we went through this, no one ever bothered to follow up on the request. I asked him if he was sure that they would be able to replace the tank soon. He said that he could not be sure because he does not handle dispatch. As of this evening, I have no propane and I am not optimistic based on recent experience that anyone will be delivering a new tank anytime soon.Customer service with this company is abysmal. All calls are routed to a call center and it would be about the same to just speak with the automated voice system. If you are not placing an order for a propane delivery they CANNOT HELP YOU. I am going to speak to Blue Ridge Energy to see how quickly they might be able to deliver a propane tank. In the mean time, I have resigned my self to spending the next several weeks without heat, hot water, or a working oven. I cannot believe that your business can thrive if this is how you treat your customers.

The online platform makes it easy to order propane. Delivery was on time.
